Chapter 12 We Should Divorce
- Elaine hung up the phone, her face twisted with anger, and immediately called Hannah.
- Elaine said, "Hannah, has your family found out who Mr. Hunt's wife is?"
- Hannah said, "Not yet. I heard they'll meet her at the dinner tonight. I'm curious to know which young lady it is."
- Upon hearing Hannah's response, Elaine narrowed her eyes. There is still time.
- In the next second, Elaine deliberately changed her tone to one of excitement, piquing Hannah's curiosity.
- Elaine said, "Hannah, coincidentally, you actually know this new bride very well."
- Hannah said, "Who is it?"
- Elaine said, "It's Ariana. I just saw Mr. Hunt pick her up from school. They must be heading to the dinner."
- Hannah said, "What? That trash Ariana doesn't deserve Simon. This is impossible."
- Hannah's fury erupted at the mention of Ariana.
- "Hannah, there's no point in saying that now. It's already a done deal, and you can't do anything about it."
- "Of course, I can!" Hannah's cold laugh came through the phone.
- Elaine said, "Hannah, please don't act impulsively."
- Elaine was overjoyed inside but pretended to be considerate and comforted Hannah.
- However, a few words were not enough to calm Hannah.
- Besides, Ariana was also Hannah's enemy.
- Inside the Rolls-Royce, Ariana said, "Handsome, you did great just now. It seems your service in this line of work is quite good!"
- Ariana shifted into a comfortable position, lazily leaning back in her seat, giving Simon a thumbs-up.
- Given his perfect performance earlier, she decided not to bring up his tardiness or the fact that he hadn't replied to her messages.
- "Service?" Simon raised an eyebrow coldly, his deep-set eyes shooting a chilling glare at Ariana.
- What did she take me for?
- Aaron, who was driving in the front seat, was immediately drenched in cold sweat. Is she out of her mind?
- Ariana instinctively shrugged her shoulders, wondering why the atmosphere in the car suddenly got tense.
- She surveyed the luxurious vehicle, sensing something was off.
- In the next moment, she suddenly realized and looked at Simon disapprovingly.
- Ariana said, "You just got a million, and you're taking out a loan to buy this luxury car? That's a bit too bold, don't you think?"
- This limited edition Rolls-Royce must cost at least ten million dollars. She didn't give him extra money except the one million dollars.
- Aaron finally couldn't hold back any longer and spoke up, his tone cold. "Miss Ransom, this is a globally limited Rolls-Royce. Only those of high status are qualified to purchase it. A million? Are you joking?"
- He emphasized the phrase "high status."
- Ariana stared at Simon in shock, blurting out without thinking, "I thought you were just a gigolo at the bar..."
- "What?" Simon raised an eyebrow, his gaze scrutinizing her, and the atmosphere in the car instantly turned tense.
- It felt like if Ariana said even one wrong word, her life would be over.
- Ariana said, "No, nothing. I thought you were just a stressed-out elite trying to relax at a bar..."
- Ariana's instinct for survival kicked in, and she quickly fumbled her words, awkwardly trying to backtrack.
- Ariana asked, "So, who exactly are you?"
- I wouldn't have inadvertently provoked some big shot, would I?
- A wave of anxiety washed over Ariana. She shouldn't have impulsively gotten into the car just now.
- Aaron said, "Miss Ransom, don't you know? Our Boss is the heir of the Hunt family, the most prominent of the four great families in Willon City, and he's the wealthiest man in Willon City."
- As Aaron explained, he carefully studied Ariana through the rearview mirror.
- Was she genuinely clueless, or was she just pretending?
- Ariana said, "Of course, I didn't know! If I had known, I wouldn't have..."
- Ariana's mind went blank, completely stunned. That sense of dread had been spot on, once again.
- She definitely couldn't afford to have the wealthiest man in Willon City engage in a contract marriage with her.
- Thinking of this, Ariana forced a smile at Simon.
- Ariana said, "Handsome, um... Mr. Hunt, this marriage was an accident. To avoid complications, I think we should just get a divorce."
- Simon let out a scoff, a hint of a smile on his lips but none reaching his eyes.
- Ariana's nerves, which had relaxed at his laugh, immediately tensed up again.
- "Do you think this marriage is something you can just enter and exit at will?" His tone rose dangerously at the end.
- Ariana instinctively shrank her shoulders and bit her lip, saying, "This marriage won't benefit you at all, right?"
- Just then, the car pulled up in front of an upscale salon, and Aaron respectfully opened the door. "Sir, we've arrived."
- Simon stepped out first, his eyes emotionless as he looked at her.
- "We get what we need," he said.
- Ariana was filled with confusion.
- Ten minutes later, in the highest-end makeup studio in Willon City, Ariana stared at the thick marriage contract in her hands, finally understanding the meaning behind Simon's words.
- Ariana said, "So you also need someone to enter a fake marriage to deal with your family?"
- Simon said, "As long as you agree to abide by the contract, we can discuss the conditions further."
