Chapter 11 Stop Pretending
- Elaine asked, "Is this your new friend? Why don't you introduce us?"
- Ariana's expression turned cold as she bluntly called Elaine out. "Don't try to get chummy with me. It's got nothing to do with you."
- Elaine said, "Ariana, I'm your sister! Why are you treating me this way?"
- Elaine immediately put on her teary-eyed act, letting her eyes fill with unshed tears as she cast a pitiful glance past Ariana, aiming straight at Simon inside.
- "What kind of show are you putting on?" Ariana rolled her eyes internally, suspiciously watching Elaine.
- Isn't this manipulative act of hers usually all about playing the aloof and innocent card? Why's she being so bold today?
- Ignoring Ariana, Elaine gazed at Simon with big, innocent eyes, her heart already leaping with excitement as if she had just hit the jackpot.
- She had deliberately lingered at the school gate, hoping to witness Ariana getting humiliated by Daniel, but Daniel had disappointed her.
- Just as she was about to head home in defeat, she stumbled upon a Rolls-Royce waiting to pick up Ariana.
- What shocked Elaine even more was that the person inside was none other than Simon, the prince of Willon City.
- She couldn't let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity slip away.
- Elaine asked, "Sir, I'm Ariana's sister, Elaine. My car just broke down. Would you mind giving me a ride?"
- Elaine tilted her head at a perfect angle, showcasing her most flattering side, and spoke in the sweetest, most pitiful voice she could muster.
- She was even more beautiful than Ariana and knew exactly what men wanted.
- Elaine thought that no man could resist her charm, and within three seconds, Simon would surely agree to help her.
- Once again, Ariana is destined to lose to me.
- Ariana glanced at Simon, just in time to see him turning his head to the left.
- After a while, Simon moved his lips, about to say something.
- Elaine couldn't help but smirk. I won.
- "Close the door," Simon said.
- Simon seemed not to even notice Elaine, his tone cold and impatient.
- The smile on Elaine's face froze, and she looked awkward and pale.
- She had just been rejected. How was this possible?
- This was the first time in her life she had ever faced such humiliation.
- Watching Elaine's distressed expression, Ariana couldn't help but silently cheer for Simon.
- He's practically an expert at handling manipulative girls!
- Ariana said, "Okay, I'll close the door now."
- Ariana stifled her laughter as she quickly pushed Elaine's hand away and shut the car door.
- With a loud "bang," Elaine snapped back to reality, her face flushed with anger and embarrassment as she glared at Ariana with fury in her eyes.
- She had never been humiliated like this before. She would definitely make Ariana pay for it.
- Just as the car was about to pull away, Elaine suddenly shouted in a sharp tone, "Ariana, you're already married! Isn't it inappropriate to get into another man's car?"
- "What are you talking about?" Ariana blinked in surprise, glancing at Elaine.
- Elaine said, "Ariana, I'm doing this for your own good. You just got married, and now you're with another man. Isn't that cheating on your husband?"
- Elaine fixed her gaze intently on Simon, deliberately emphasizing the word "cheating" as she spoke.
- Her words appeared caring on the surface, but they were actually meant to strike a sharp blow at Ariana.
- She didn't know how Ariana had gotten involved with Simon, but no man would tolerate being cuckolded.
- With this revelation, Ariana would be finished.
- Ariana couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing.
- "What... what are you laughing at?" Elaine eyed her suspiciously.
- "I'm laughing at how you calculated everything and ended up looking like a fool." Ariana doubled over in laughter, clutching her stomach.
- Inside the car, Simon had lost his patience and shouted, "Aaron!"
- Hearing the command, Aaron immediately revved the engine and took off.
- Before Elaine could react, the sudden acceleration of the car startled her, causing her legs to give way and sending her sprawling awkwardly to the ground.
- Simon didn't even seem to care? Why? What charm does Ariana have?
- Elaine's eyes were red with anger as she watched the Rolls-Royce drive away.
- At that moment, Martha's call came through.
- "Hello? Mom, what's up?" Elaine answered the phone, her tone impatient.
- "Elaine, something has happened. I had someone look into Ariana's whereabouts yesterday. It seems she knew something in advance and deliberately went to a bar to find a man to marry," Martha said.
- "Hmph. A waste like her is only good enough for some gigolo," Elaine scoffed derisively, but Martha's voice became even more urgent on the other end.
- "Do you know who the man she married is? She has struck gold. It's Simon," Martha said.
- "What?" A surge of anger ignited in Elaine's heart.
- So it turns out Ariana has sabotaged my chance with Simon.
- "I will not let her get away with this," Elaine said.
- "But she's already married to Simon. What should we do now?"
- "It seems like the seniors of Hunt Garden didn't approve, right? She doesn't qualify for the position of Mrs. Hunt," Elaine said.
