Chapter 6 Marry Me

  • "Ashlynn, it's urgent! Can you try to get Mr. Fullerton's phone number?"
  • Amelia had blocked him on WhatsApp, even leaving the groups they shared. Now the only person she could turn to for help was Ashlynn.
  • On the other end, Ashlynn's voice sounded somewhat groggy, obviously not fully awake. "Who?"
  • "Asher—"
  • "If you're sleepwalking, go back to sleep."
  • "I don't have time to explain in detail. I have an emergency, and it's serious!"
  • The supervisor of her project partner had left the country right after signing the contract. She couldn't ask them to come back and sign a new contract with her.
  • Ashlynn also sensed that she wasn't joking. She sat up in bed and thought for a moment. "I definitely can't get the number, but you can go to his room and find him."
  • She's right!
  • Amelia quickly hung up and put on a random outfit before heading to the hotel's presidential suite.
  • However, when she reached that floor, Matthew intercepted her right after she exited the elevator.
  • "Hello, I'm looking for Mr. Fullerton."
  • Matthew gave her a once-over and asked in a serious tone, "Do you have an appointment?"
  • Amelia replied, "No."
  • Matthew curtly told her, "Please leave."
  • "Can you make an exception? Just help me convey a message: Amelia Snyder needs to see him urgently, and he will meet me for sure!"
  • Despite her request, Matthew didn't respond at all, acting as if he hadn't heard it.
  • Amelia felt a bit defeated when suddenly, a low voice emanated from the suite.
  • "Let her in."
  • Hearing Asher's command, Matthew finally agreed to let her in.
  • Amelia cautiously pushed open the suite door, only to find Asher still wearing his black silk robe. At that moment, he was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, holding a cup of black coffee in his hand, taking a sip from time to time.
  • When his gaze fell upon her, Amelia flashed an awkward smile. "Mr. Fullerton, did you happen to find a contract that day?"
  • "That day?" Asher raised his thick eyebrows, then promptly strode toward her. "Which day are you referring to?"
  • The pressure was so intense that Amelia subconsciously took a few steps back.
  • She knew Asher was doing this deliberately. Trying to shift the topic wouldn't work, so she decided to be honest.
  • "Mr. Fullerton, I mistakenly sent the text to the wrong person that night, and I don't remember anything that happened afterward! I'm here just to pick up the contract today—"
  • "Amelia, I need to find someone to marry."
  • Taken aback by his sudden interruption, Amelia was momentarily at a loss. "What?"
  • "I said, marry me." Asher approached, his dark eyes fixed directly on her astonished face. "Think about it."
  • He spoke with such nonchalance as if he were merely discussing the weather. Yet, when Amelia heard it, she almost thought she was hearing things.
  • After standing still for a while, she said, "Mr. Fullerton, you don't need to test me."
  • Amelia wasn't foolish. If Asher needed a marriage partner, there would be a line of willing women, and she shouldn't be chosen.
  • Therefore, this could only be a test to see if she had ambitious plans, wanting to rise from rags to riches.
  • Asher ignored her words and continued, "Your mother is in the hospital receiving treatment, right? I can help her find the top doctors and cover all her expenses. If you agree, we can get married tomorrow."
  • He spoke with utmost seriousness, and the expression on his handsome face didn't seem like he was joking.
  • But...
  • "Why?"
  • "I just mentioned that I am in search of a life partner. As for why I have chosen you...," Asher paused, carefully considering his words, "it is because you are the most compatible individual for me."
