Chapter 6

  • Not all people are sane.
  • However, she couldn't resist the weight of his eyes and fell asleep. In the cold of the early morning, she felt like she was being watched, and she wasn't wrong. When she jolted awake, she felt a cold, nauseating breath in front of her. When her eyes opened, she tried to scream, but a hand covered her mouth.
  • "Shh, little one, don't scream, or you'll wake the children, and I don't need them awake for what we want to do," he said. She only shook her head, and her eyes indicated a refusal.
  • Bruno grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the room. She tried to break free but felt something pointed at her stomach.
  • "What... what is that Bruno?"
  • "Today, you're going to be mine, whether you want it or not," he said, and she looked terrified, not just because of the gun but because of what he intended to do. The mere idea of abuse, especially with the children in the house, filled her with the worst fear.
  • "No, Bruno, please don't hurt me. I beg you, let me go to the children's room."
  • "No, Johanne, no woman has ever told me no, and you won't be the exception, understand that" Bruno said, his gaze dark. Johanne was trembling with fear.
  • "Bruno, things shouldn't be like this. Please, put the gun down. We can talk."
  • "Oh really? What do you think we can talk about?" He was getting closer to her. Despite being brave, Johanne was overwhelmed by fear at that moment. She didn't know how to handle the situation but desperately wanted to come out of it alive.
  • "You shouldn't commit a crime, understand that this is a crime," Johanne began to walk around Bruno's room, but he was content just to follow her with his gaze and the gun aimed at her.
  • "Johanne, undress," he ordered in his deep voice.
  • "No, Bruno," she pleaded, extending her hands toward him.
  • "Yes, Johanne, move!" She swallowed the lump in her throat and reluctantly began to take off her jacket. As if by a miracle, footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs.
  • Bruno put a finger to his lips, indicating Johanne to be silent. She paled and let a couple of tears fall, pressing her hands to her mouth.
  • "Bruno, are you awake at this hour?" Eduard's voice sounded in the house. Bruno clenched his lips, filled with anger.
  • "Hello, Eduard," he said, leaving the room and closing the door behind him, hiding the gun. "Aren't you supposed to be on a trip?"-
  • "Yes, the event ended early, and I wanted to come home. I don't like leaving my son alone for too long. It's 4 am; you should be sleeping," Eduard replied suggestively and continued to his room. However, he noticed his son's room had the door open, so he decided to enter.
  • He saw his son and Angel's little stroller and came out of there. "Bruno, have you seen Johanne? The kids are alone."
  • "No, she must be around here somewhere. You know how absent-minded she can be," he replied nervously. Eduard returned to the first floor to look for her.
  • "Get out of here but be careful with what you're going to tell my brother, or you'll pay for it. Got it?" Bruno gently struck her on the head with the butt of his gun, and she left the room, heading down to the first floor, where she encountered Eduard.
  • "Good morning, sir, I didn't feel you come in," she said.
  • "Where were you, Johanne?"
  • "In the bathroom," she replied, her confidence helping her.
  • "Which room are you sleeping in?"
  • "Jhin's room, on the chair next to him," she replied in embarrassment, in a hushed tone. She couldn't even explain the reasons why she was there, let alone what had just happened with Bruno.
  • "Hmm, I see," Eduard said suspiciously, not understanding the coincidence of both her and his brother being awake at the Georgee time.
  • "Yes, did something happen? Why did he have to cut his trip short?" She tried to break the ice.
  • "No, they just canceled today's event, and I decided to come take care of Jhin, so please, go rest until morning, and then you can leave," he said.
  • She nodded and went to her room, but something still didn't sit right with Eduard. Nevertheless, he would try to trust her because she was the nanny who had lasted the longest in his mansion, taking care of his son. Although the little one hadn't fully accepted her, he hadn't chased her away either.
  • The next day, as Eduard ordered, Johanne left. She wanted to run away from that house, fearing what Bruno might do to her or her baby. Despite the generous pay, she wasn't willing to stay for long, so she would start looking for a new job.
  • "What did you do yesterday, son? How did Johanne treat you?"
  • "Well, but I wasn't with her. My uncle took me for ice cream at the mall," the little one replied as he took a bite of fruit.
  • "I don't understand, son. Did you go to the mall with Bruno? Were you alone with him?"
  • "Yes, daddy, we went alone. My uncle Bruno is really cool," Jhin spoke from his innocence, while Eduard's blood boiled. Not only did he not trust his brother, but he also couldn't understand why Johanne had let her guard down like that. But he wouldn't let this slide.
