Chapter 6

  • TIA POV
  • "Uhm dad, it's not actually what you think. I can explain." I tried to explain, with wobble hands.
  • "Do you really have to lie again at this point? Come on sunshine, one of the shareholders called me and explained everything to me. What more is there to hide again? I never expected this from you. I'm really not happy with this."
  • “I’m so sorry dad. I know I really failed you and you probably hate me but trust me, I will fix everything to the way it was before.” I burst out in tears bitterly.
  • “What made you think I hate you? I can never hate you just because the company is in a bad situation. I know you don’t mean any of it but I’m so hurt you kept it away from me, why did you do that?”
  • “I didn’t want to endanger your health even more which was why I had to hide it away from you.” I explained, with uncontrollable tears.
  • “Come over here, sunshine.” He gestured to me to sit right beside him on the bed.
  • "So, tell me sunshine. How did it all happen?" He asked which I couldn't help but let the free flow of tears roll down my cheeks.
  • "I'm really sorry, dad. I felt really betrayed when my ex-boyfriend played me with a man he introduced as a business expert. I was totally unaware it was all a planned work by my ex-boyfriend to exploit me."
  • "It's alright, sunshine. You should have told me about it anyways than hiding it away from me. Everyone makes one or two mistakes at some point in life and that is what makes us humans."
  • "I'm really sorry for everything, dad. I will try to fix everything right, I promise."
  • "I know you will, sunshine." He held on to my hands tightly with a warm smile on his face.
  • "Thank you so much dad."
  • "You're welcome, my love. I don't want you keeping things away from me as an excuse for my health."
  • "Why shouldn't I, dad? We almost lost you just because of that which was why I had to keep it away from you."
  • "Don't worry, sunshine, you can't lose me easily. I still have some years to live to witness you get married and give me grandchildren." He laughed.
  • "Dad! It's not funny." I frowned.
  • "Of course it is, my love." He laughed which made me smile, seeing him happy even after learning about the truth about the company.
  • I'm so glad everything has been cleared off with my dad. All I have to deal with right now is how to grow the company once again.
  • ANDREW POV
  • I was so occupied with work that I forgot to call my mom to confirm my dad's condition whether there has been any change in his health after I left in the morning.
  • I dismissed my work and picked my phone and placed a call across to her which in turn she picked at the first ring.
  • "Hey mom! How is dad's condition?"
  • "There haven't been any changes, son."
  • "Okay mom. I just wanted to confirm if there has been a new change in his health."
  • "He's still the same, darling. Have all the arrangements of finding a wife for you been made? You know we need to do it very fast." She inquired which pissed me off but I composed myself.
  • "I'm aware, mom. Frank already took care of it. You can further ask him to handle any other thing missing for the interview." I stated, unemotionally.
  • "Alright darling. "
  • "I will join you shortly when I'm done from the office."
  • "Okay, darling. I love you."
  • "Me too." I replied and ended the call.
  • If it isn't because of dad's health condition, I wouldn't have agreed to any of these findings of wife shit.
  • Mom is already taking the opportunity to see I'm settled with a woman just like she has always wanted.
  • Why am I so concerned anyways when I won't allow the so-called woman to get anywhere close to me.
  • No matter how beautiful or ugly she will look, I won't let her into my life no matter how she tries to tame me because that's the only thing ladies now are all good at.
  • THE NEXT DAY
  • MORNING
  • TIA POV
  • I was taking the day off from the company to spend time with my dad since mom was taking the day off to rest.
  • I dressed up in a casual blue top and blue jean trouser alongside a black leather jacket and a black heels.
  • I walked out of my room and headed to my mom's room to see her still sleeping which made me head downstairs to find three maids clearing the living room.
  • "Good morning ma'am." They greeted me.
  • "Good morning. Is breakfast ready?"
  • "Yes ma'am." One of them answered.
  • "Okay." I replied and headed to the dining table to find my breakfast served.
  • "Good morning ma'am." Another maid greeted, bringing another dish to the dining.
  • "Good morning." I responded and began to dish out the food myself.
  • After eating to my satisfaction, I picked my bag and the basket containing my dad's breakfast and headed outside the mansion.
  • I stepped out to find one of our drivers waiting by the car and without wasting time, I got inside before he drove out of the mansion.
  • In less than an hour, we arrived at the hospital, Walton Private Hospital which is one of the most expensive and influential hospitals for billionaires and rich elites in the country. We had to admit my dad in the hospital because of their professional doctors and intensive care.
  • I got out of the car, holding the basket and my bag before making my way inside.
  • I was on my way to the elevator when a call came through on my phone as I checked to see it was from Katie.
  • I arrived at the VIP section heading towards my dad's ward and at the same time on a call with Katie when I accidentally ran into an older woman who was dressed in an expensive dress with an evergreen beauty and black curly hair.
