Chapter 12 A Scary Family

• Ziyan looked at Ye Yifan, who had been forced into a corner, and shook her head in amusement. “It’s just about money, right? Any problem that can be solved with money isn’t a problem at all. I’ll be in charge of settling all the debts between you and the Lins. All we need to do is to calculate the final amount and we’re done here.”
• “What?” Ziyan’s words sent Ye Yifan into a panic. Was there anybody in the world wealthier than the Roths family?
• He suddenly realized that all the efforts he had put in was going to waste in an instant.
• “Wasting my boss’ time is not something that can be settled with money, so I hope CEO Ye can calm down,” Ziyan dropped a gentle reminder.
• Dai Wei saw that it was about time, so he turned to hook Lin Xiaoxue’s arm and walked her out of the church in front of everybody.
• “What? You can’t just take my daughter away like that!” Lin Xiaoxue’s parents started running after them when they saw their daughter being walked out.
• Ye Yifan wanted to go after them too, but Ziyan stuck her foot out and used her high heels to step on his toes, and stood arrogantly in front of him to block his way.
• “CEO Ye, we haven’t settled the money yet, so where do you think you’re going?”
• Ye Yifan only felt a throbbing pain coming from his toes and the pain made him frown deeply.
• He hadn’t expected that this secretary would have such a strong presence. He glared at Ziyan’s cold and vicious face, then looked around at the Roths family bodyguards that had surrounded him, and was completely defeated.
• “Oh dear I’m so sorry, I didn’t notice I stepped on your foot.” Ziyan noticed that Ye Yifan had given up and so she took her foot away and pretended to be apologetic.
• Ye Yifan looked around to see the guests murmuring among themselves about what happened, while Lin Xiaoxue had already made it through the main door of the church, and he could only make out a white figure moving away from him.
• “There’s plenty of fish in the sea, why give up the entire forest for one tree!” Ye Yifan’s subordinates saw that he still didn’t want to admit defeat and were afraid that Ye Yifan would end up offending someone he shouldn’t. They continued to persuade him, “Boss, why suffer a loss for nothing?”
• Those weren’t just empty rumors – even though Roths Investment Bank was only one of the top twenty banks in the world, and the parent company, Roths Group, wasn’t very well known, the Roths family that established these businesses had been around for more than two centuries. Both the past, present and future of the world’s economy had close connections with this family, and now they were in control of most of the gold in the world, so it was scary to even think about their power.
• The family kept a low profile and were not well known among the general public, but everyone who had studied business and finance would definitely know about the Roths family, just like how everyone who joined the army would definitely know Napoleon.
• This was a family that nobody dared to offend. If they just moved one finger, Xingyue Group would immediately disappear the next day. Without this company, Ye Yifan was nothing.
• When he thought about how powerful the Roths family was, Ye Yifan shuddered and lost all the energy he had earlier. He was like a rooster who had lost in a cock fight as he lowered his head in defeat.

• The Lin parents ran out of the church and managed to grab Dai Wei’s hand from behind just before he got into the car with Lin Xiaoxue. Two men in black came over to pull the parents away but Dai Wei stopped them.
• “Sir, you can’t just take my Xiaoxue away like this. She’s a good girl, a very good girl. If you have any feud to settle, you can take us instead.” Ye Yifan had been terrifying enough, and now this group of people seemed even more frightening. Mrs Lin began to despair when she heard that Dai Wei say that they had a private matter to settle and started begging on behalf of her daughter.
• “Mrs Lin, don’t worry. I promise to bring Miss Lin home in one good piece later. But now, I have to take her to meet my boss first,” Dai Wei replied in a gentle voice.
