Chapter 516 Banquet

• A storm began to brew as soon as Evie left. Like the storm, Lucian's mood was just as turbulent. He knew that he was not perfect, so it would be impossible for him to perfectly smooth things with Evie when it came to his relationships. Freya allowed him to go after Evie and comfort her as best as he could, but he was unable to since he was also part of the whole drama. Somehow he only made things worse for her, but there was nothing he could do. He did not go after her that time and all he did was watch her leave as she sobbed. He knew that it would only complicate things if he went after her. So, it would be best to just leave her be. He only returned to his room after watching her drive away.
• For the next two days, aside from hanging out with his comrades, he spent his remaining time with his family. In order to make it up to them, Lucian decided to show them everything around the city. However, Lucian was still conscious enough to avoid anywhere that Evie could show up. He wanted to minimize his interaction with her. He wanted to still be friends with her, but he wanted to give her space and he knew that when she calmed down, she would definitely reach out to him. Besides, since this was out of his control, he decided not to focus too much energy on it. In all honesty, he was actually quite happy recently because his wife and daughter were with him. So, he finally had time to take his condition seriously. He called Alexander about his progress on making a cure and he was told that Alexander had already arrived at his master's hometown. He also asked the locals around and made some progress on the cure. He knew that it would not be difficult to synthesize a cure once he figured out how the poison was made. Alexander said, "Soon. Just wait for me in Edofield and I'll get the cure straight to you once it's done. You shouldn't have to wait too long now. So, just hang tight, Lucian!"
• Apparently, Lucian was only given five months to live after his battle with Jose and two months had already gone by since then. If the cure wasn't made by then, there would not be too much hope left for him. So, Lucian gave Alexander a two month deadline since there would not be any time left for him if the cure was not made. However, Alexander told Lucian that he only needed about twenty days to synthesize a cure for him. Lucian felt a lot better after hearing that which calmed him down enough to have time to focus on other things. Things were quite stable for the past two days as Lucian could not be bothered with what Skyler was planning as he had a more important task at hand and that would be winning the bid to have complete authority over the Gray family. He would be able to get the Gray family to join his guild if he won the bid. Doing so was incredibly important in boosting Skypride Group's reputation.
