Chapter 2 I Hate You
- "Minnie!"
- Freya, who was bound to a wheelchair, cried out in anguish. She couldn't even lift a finger. "I'm warning you, Calvin! If you touch Minnie again, I'll call the police, you son of a b*tch!"
- "Are you threatening me?"
- Calvin cursed and kicked her wheelchair, causing her to topple into a pool of mud.
- "F*ck you!"
- He began to repeatedly kick the woman. "How dare a disabled person like you threaten me? Do you still think you're the high and mighty Ms. Harrison? You're nothing now. If I were you, I would've killed myself a long time ago, b*tch! Let's see you fight back now!"
- "Stop it!"
- "Mom!"
- Minnie threw herself in front of Freya and endured a few blows. She gritted her teeth and refused to make a sound. She pleaded, "You can hit me. Just don't hit my Mommy. Stop hitting her... She's sick. Hit me instead..."
- "Minnie!"
- Freya felt utterly helpless as she lay on the floor. She couldn't do anything but watch her daughter being beaten.
- She was a useless person who couldn't even protect her own daughter.
- "Help! Please save my daughter!"
- She begged for help from the crowd of onlookers.
- "Let's see them try. I'm the son of the Harrison family. Anyone who crosses me will regret it!" He roared with fury.
- This frightened everyone in the crowd. No one stepped forward to help the mother and daughter. After all, the man came from a powerful family, while the rest were ordinary citizens who couldn't afford to provoke him.
- "Ahhh!"
- She cried out until her voice became hoarse as she watched Minnie being assaulted and her face pressed into the mud. Every scream from the little girl only fueled her hatred. She cried out in despair, "I hate you, Lucian Gray! I hate you!"
- I hate you!
- Freya's eyes were filled with overwhelming anger. She looked like a wild beast ready to go on a rampage. She screamed in anguish at the group of indifferent onlookers.
- I hate...
- I hate that heartless man who ruined my life.
- She had been a popular student. Her business skills shone after graduation, and she became the successful president of the Harrison Group, worth millions. Her future was full of endless possibilities.
- However, she gave up everything for love and eloped to the countryside with Lucian, whom she married.
- She gave him everything, but all she received in return was his absence from her life.
- She found out about her pregnancy only after the Harrisons forcibly separated her from him. The child was a result of the love between her and Lucian, which is why she hid the truth of Minnie's birth and incurred the wrath of the Harrison family. She became the laughingstock of Sioux and lost her former glory overnight.
- She didn't care. She brought three-month-old Minnie to find him as a surprise, only to learn that he had enlisted in the army.
- She wrote letter after letter, but it was as if they had all disappeared into the void. No news ever came back.
- Seven years had passed since then!
- "Stop it, Calvin. Everyone here knows that Freya and Minnie are well-known people who are going through hardships. Stop tormenting them."
- A woman carrying a basket couldn't bear it any longer.
- "Do you want to die, b*tch?"
- He pointed a finger at her. "Trying to offend the Harrisons now, huh?"
- "I..."
- The woman trembled in fear and retreated into the crowd. She was just an ordinary person who couldn't afford to go against a family like the Harrisons. She had no choice but to back down.
- "I'm going to break this brat's legs today. Let's see who can say anything about it."
- "I am the law here," he snarled arrogantly.
- "You're brave."
- Suddenly, an enraged yell came from nearby.
- Everyone turned to see a military vehicle speeding towards them before coming to a stop.
- Lucian, wearing military boots and a dark green coat, jumped out of the car. His strong facial features exuded a regal aura. The indifference in his eyes made him look like a mighty beast in slumber. The air seemed to still in his presence.
- "L...Lucian."
- Freya, still lying in the dirt, was shocked to see him. She had waited for seven long years. He was finally back.
- Why did you even come back...?
- She burst into tears as the light in her eyes faded. She lay motionless on the ground as if she were dead.
- Minnie, who was lying protectively on top of Freya, sensed that something was wrong and looked up to see Lucian. She trembled as she recognized him. Icy anger filled her eyes.
- She instantly understood that the man before her was her father who had disappeared for seven long years.
- No. I don't have a father.
- I'm a child without a father. Everyone knows that.
- "Who the f*ck are you?"
- Calvin stared at Lucian and realized who he was. His words were mocking. "Oh... It's the exiled Mr. Lucian himself. I heard you joined the army. Finished with your military service?"
- He looked at the mother and daughter lying in a heap on the floor.
- Lucian paid no attention to Calvin. He could see Minnie's eyes filled with hatred for him. Guilt overwhelmed him at the sight of those eyes in a young girl.
- He had wanted to seek revenge for his family, but Minnie's hatred and Freya's indifference stopped him in his tracks.
- He was no longer a war god. He had become an irresponsible husband and father.
- "Bullying my daughter?"
- He glared at Calvin and through gritted teeth, spat, "Hehehehe. Calvin, with his arms folded across his chest, looked down condescendingly at Minnie and laughed. "She's just a little b*tch. Those were just a few kicks. Let's see if she can upset me again. Next time, I'll break her legs, kill her, and feed her to the dogs!"
- "F*ck you!"
- Lucian, who had been mostly silent, let out a heart-wrenching scream as tears streamed down his cheeks.
- He rushed towards Calvin at lightning speed.
- Bam!
- His fist connected with Calvin's chest.
