Chapter 50: IT DOESN’T MATTER

• Sarah thought that Mrs. Thomas would change her mind and then like her over time. And then her marriage would be happy. But now, it was impossible. Mrs. Thomas didn’t like her at all, and didn’t seem like she was open to ever liking Sarah one day – she just wanted to drive her away.
