Chapter 6 Realization
- Silvana's Pov
- On the drive home, I was at a loss for words and decided to fake being asleep in order to have an excuse not to speak to Hector.
- I don't understand myself.
- Why am I so affected by the words he said to me?
- Even though all he said was, "You look great today," I feel as though my entire world has come to a halt.
- It seems that something has changed.
- Hector made a sexual allusion, which didn't make me feel anything for him.
- Given that Hector is gay, we get along well. But I'm starting to feel strange these days. It appears that I no longer identify him as a gay man. Perhaps as a result of Millie's repeated claims that Hector is not actually gay.
- Or is it possible that I am already feeling something for him?
- No! It's impossible. We are only married because of a contract, after all. Additionally, I don't think it would be a good idea to fall in love with him knowing that he is actually gay. He won't be pleased to know that, I'm sure of it. Due to the fact that he favors men over ladies like me.
- To be honest, though, I never observed him acting in a homosexual manner during our marriage. Millie was correct after all. It's hard to believe Hector is a gay man. There is no indication that he is gay from the way he behaves.
- Car came to a stop. We appear to be at our home already.
- Now, Silvana, what should you do?
- I'll make it seem like I'm sound asleep. Or will I feign being awake after napping instead?
- I heard Hector speak before I could decide what to do.
- Hector approached me and said, "Silv, I know you well. You are not truly asleep, but I can still carry you if you wish."
- How embarrassing is this. He caught me!
- I was forced to open my eyes and give him a timid glance.
- I asked him as I unbuckled my seatbelt, "How did you know I wasn't really sleeping?
- He seemed to be trying not to laugh at me, "I can see your eyelashes moving."
- I yelled, "You are looking at me while you are driving?"
- Hector responded, "Yeah, Sorry, I can't help it," which caused me to gasp.
- My face is starting to get warm as I say, "Y-you can't help it?"
- "Ahm... It's getting late. Let's get inside." He said, "We had a long day today," and then he stepped out of the car, as if to escape me.
- I gathered myself and followed him.
- And I'm not prepared for what I'm about to see in our living room.
- It's my painting, and I gave it the title "Fated."
- I believed that it would be purchased anonymously.
- Hector was the one who purchased it, but I was unaware of this.
- Hector says in a low voice, "I directed them to put it in my room.
- I questioned, "You bought that painting?"
- "Yes," he said, "I bought it, because that painting is precious to me. I met you there. Additionally, you paint it there. I did so for that reason." He explained.
- "How come you didn't inform me?" I asked him again.
- "I know you're tired as well, so let's go to our rooms and get some rest instead of asking." He remarked before kissing me on the forehead. "Silv, good night."
- I was left there, still absorbing everything in my head, while Hector proceeded into his bedroom.
- That night, I had a difficult time falling asleep. Because I can't possibly process anything that happens.
- My first art show was a triumph.
- I get so much praise and gratitude, and my paintings are practically all sold out.
- It is so overwhelming.
- Then there is this odd sensation I have towards Hector. I also learned that he was the one who purchased my favorite painting. And he admitted to me that the fact that he met me there, in that location, is what makes that painting meaningful for him.
- I went to the kitchen to make breakfast. For Hector, I want to make a special breakfast. I wanted to express my gratitude to him for all that he had done for me. For allowing that art exhibit to happen, for making me content. He has my sincere gratitude.
- But when I arrived, I wasn't prepared for what I found.
- Hector Valderama, a multibillionaire, is preparing food while donning an apron.
- And I'm telling you, even with that apron on and while he's stirring stuff in a pan, He looks so manly.
- "I am the one who is meant to be doing that for you, so what are you doing," I asked.
- "Am I forbidden from using our kitchen and preparing meals for my wife?" He spoke without glancing at me.
- He is preparing food for me, and he refers to me as his wife?
- Although we are acting fake in front of our parents, it is the first time he has called me that when we are alone.
- "I'll take care of this for you. Sit down and unwind while I make our breakfast." Hector remarked to me.
- "Could I assist you instead?"
- I questioned him.
- "No. I can handle this." He gives me a comforting smile as he stares at me.
- And I was melted by that smile.
- I can't help but follow him.
- I just watched him prepare breakfast for us as I sat at the island kitchen counter.
- He appears to be a chef from a TV show as I watch him make his way to the kitchen. He appears to have knowledge of what he is doing. He doesn't appear to be struggling with what he is doing at all. He is moving gracefully.
- Who would have imagined a billionaire like him wasting his time cooking for his wife?
- Why am I only able to see this aspect of him right now?
- And why am I experiencing this?
- Now I'm starting to realize it.
- Already, I find myself smitten with my fictitious husband. I am aware that he is gay and that we are bound by a contract. But I did make a choice as a result of this insight.
- About how this will turn out, I'm not really sure. But I still want to give it a shot.
- I want to fall in love with Hector Valderama and have a real marriage with him.
