Chapter 2 Strange
- Silvana's Pov
- "Did I hear you correctly? Do you already have a boyfriend?" my mother said, her face wrinkled.
- "Yes, Mom," I said, nodding.
- "And you want us to trust you?" Dad interjected. He was sipping his coffee while reading a newspaper.
- "You have to trust me, Mom and Dad. I'm speaking the truth. I already have a boyfriend, which is why you can't force me to marry whatever that man you want me to marry," I groaned. But knowing them, they won't take it easily.
- "Do you believe you can trick us, Silvana?" Mom inquired. I could see she was already unhappy.
- "I'm not deceiving you, two; I'm speaking the truth," I insist.
- I'm not letting them marry whatever that man is. I've been following them my entire life. I even abandoned my ambition of being a full-time painter and opening my own art gallery. But allowing them to determine who I will marry is ludicrous.
- "Silvana, we've been telling you that this marriage is for our company's sake. You have to marry that man to be able to save our company. You are our only heir. You're the one who's going to inherit everything." Dad is trying to convince me again by using our company.
- "Your dad is right. That's why you have to cooperate. Break up with whoever your boyfriend is. And marry the man we want you to marry." Mom stated unequivocally.
- I am their only child. But they've been so unfair to me. They won't let me decide for myself.
- But I had enough. I won't do what they want me to do this time. I don't want to marry that guy either. Period.
- I sighed before I spoke again, "I'm sorry, Mom and Dad. But I'm not breaking up with my boyfriend." I heard my mom gasp. But still, I continued talking. "I'm not breaking up with Hector." There, I said his name, and I saw Mom and Dad looking at each other.
- "What is your boyfriend's name?" Mom asked. She looks shocked.
- I replied, stuttering, "H-he was Hector Valderama." I am so nervous. What the heck?
- "Mr. Prince Hector Valderama, is your boyfriend?" Dad asked. He, like Mom, appeared surprised.
- "Yes, Dad. He is," I replied. And I guess I knew the reason. Why do they seem so shocked upon hearing his name?
- Maybe it is because of the rumors circulating that he is homosexual. Because of his scandal with Greg Smith.
- And before they object, I have to clarify everything.
- "Hector is not gay. The scandal was just a misunderstanding. And he is willing to marry me to prove that he is not gay and loves me." I said to them. And again, Mom and Dad look at each other. It is as if they are talking with their eyes.
- And I don't know what got into them. Because just like that, they accepted Hector as my boyfriend. No more arguments. Despite the scandal, he's been with.
- Just like that, and I just found myself married to the young billionaire, Prince Hector Valderama.
- I'm not expecting Mom and Dad to accept Hector that easily. But maybe they do accept him because our company is on the verge of bankruptcy. And now, our company is starting to bloom again. Thanks to Hector and his expertise when it comes to business. He didn't just use his money to help us, but he also taught us how to manage our business properly.
- Because of Hector's modern-medieval home, Because of that house, I met him. And his scandal benefits me well. When I asked him to have a contract marriage with me, he accepted it to stop the rumors that were already circulating in society. That's why he agreed to have a contract marriage with me.
- The rumors will be put to rest. And he will help me get rid of whoever that guy is. My parents wanted me to marry. At the same time, our company will be saved from bankruptcy.
- Our family and friends believed that our marriage was true. They didn't have any idea that it was just a contract marriage. Only me and Hector know about it. And we have to keep it secret until we decide to separate.
- "A penny for your thoughts?" I was here on the balcony when I heard his voice, and I turned to face him.
- "You're up early today, my princess. I mean, Prince," I teased him.
- "You are making fun of me again," he said grumpily.
- "Of course not! I had already cooked breakfast. Want to eat with me?" I asked him to try to change his mood.
- "I lost my appetite," he said, then turned his back on me. He was about to leave, but I stopped him.
- "Wait a minute!" I held his firm biceps. "I'm not going to call you princess again," I said, trying to suppress my laughter.
- "You're always making fun of me. Should I punish you, wife?" Hector lean-to, leveling his face against mine.
- But instead of getting scared, I grab his face and say, "And what will you do, huh? Husband?" I challenge him.
- He looked at my face for a moment. I thought he was going to kiss me, but he just pushed my forehead using his fingers.
- "In your dreams!" He said, which made me wrinkle my face. "Let's just eat breakfast. We will meet the curator of the art gallery today." And that got my attention.
- "Really?" I was overwhelmed with joy, so I hugged him. "I'm so excited! Thank you so much, Hector!" I was savoring the moment when I heard him coughing. I distanced myself from him, wondering.
- "Are you okay?" I worriedly asked him.
- "I'm okay. Let's go downstairs and eat," he replied, avoiding my gaze. Then he started to walk inside the room from the balcony.
- I just followed him. Hector is weird and strange sometimes. But it's okay. With him, I feel comfortable and secure. I can be whoever I want to be when I'm with him. He was supporting me with my passion, which is painting.
- I can't wait to meet the curator!
