Chapter 7 Where have you been?
- "M-mom..." As her voice and lips trembled, she tried to speak but failed. Only air came out of her mouth.
- Her eyes had no tears, but the chain that gripped her heart seemed to come from lava because of the extreme pain. She wanted to cry out the sorrow so that the feelings she felt for her husband would no longer exist when the tears were gone.
- "Is he with his mistress again?"
- Blossom nodded even though the person on the other line couldn't see her as she still had the phone to her ear. The woman she was talking to was Cristel, her mother-in-law— Leo's mom.
- "W-what should I do?"
- "What are legal wives supposed to do?"
- "But I'm scared..." If Blossom's tears hadn't been there before, they were now like rain as big teardrops fell one after another from her eyes.
- Cristel lowered her voice, "If you're afraid, love has no place for you. Love is sacrifice. If you can't do it, you don't have to."
- After Cristel spoke, Blossom slowly stood up and touched her burnt legs cause of the soup she had prepared for Leo.
- "Thanks, mom!" She hung up and hurried to the elevator. She didn't hesitate to get in and follow the two.
- Before the elevator stopped, she received a message from Cristel, [I'm going home soon.]
- She didn't reply anymore and got off but felt more relieved. After that, she instantly found her husband and his mistress outside the building getting into his luxurious car.
- She was discouraged because she could not follow them if her car was parked in another parking area. She just sat like a loser under the scorching heat of the sun.
- 'This won't do.'
- When she was about to get up and go home, she was surprised by a car that looked just like Leo's. She thought he had come back for her, but when she got up to peek inside, the man slowly rolled down the window and saw Uriel Giacometti, her husband's cousin.
- "Until now, you are still the one chasing after my cousin. Like I told you, if you filed for divorce and married me, we might have three children now." Uriel winked at Blossom as his dimple added to his attractiveness.
- "Uriel!" Blossom suddenly cheered when she saw him, "Uriel, let's follow Leo! They haven't gone too far yet, and we can chase them if we go now!"
- "Why? I think you should separate so you will end up with me."
- "Stop messing around, please."
- "I'm serious, Blossom."
- Blossom stared at him with teary eyes. However, Uriel stood by what he believed. After pondering a long time, he sighed and announced, "Get inside. This will be the last time I'll help you. In the future, I'll steal you from him."
- Blossom kept quiet since she was certain that Uriel meant every word he spoke. Because he didn't conceal his feelings, she already knew how he felt about her. The only issue was that she would have chosen someone to love if she could, but Leo was the one who was constantly on her mind and in her heart.
- "Use me... Blossom. Use me all you want to make Leo jealous if you're worried about you and him. Just let me stay by your side."
- In the end, Blossom gave up chasing after Leo since she understood there was nothing she could do about the situation. She had just asked Uriel to drop her off at The People's Happiness Park, a place she frequently visited in times of agitation. It was strange because the way she felt every time she went here didn’t match the park's name at all.
- Before Uriel started his car, he told Blossom, "Think about what I'm offering."
- "Use me... Blossom."
- "Use me... Blossom."
- "Use me... Blossom."
- No matter how often the phrases run through her head, she was aware of one thing for certain: she couldn’t intentionally hurt the feelings of other people for the sake of her own happiness. She knew love could destroy people, since it had already damaged her. She would never take advantage of Uriel.
- She remained on the bench until the park closed at twelve in the morning. She was preoccupied with so many other things that she didn’t know she had been staring into space for several hours.
- When she arrived back at the villa, all of the lights in the mansion were still turned off. Her chest became tighter in spite of the fact that it appeared Leo would not be returning. She walked slowly as tears gathered in the corners of her eyes.
- As soon as she opened the huge double door, she was greeted by a frigid and dimly lit living room. Her hands shook as she reached for the light switch. However, when she couldn’t find it, she headed straight towards the stairs. In addition, why on earth would she open the light if there was no one there to welcome her?
- When she took a step, she was unexpectedly addressed by a low, icy voice that came from behind her. It seemed like a million volts of electricity ran through her body at once.
- "Where did you go?"
- Blossom didn't say anything and just stood there the whole time. She tightened her grasp on her fist and looked up to the ceiling in an effort to prevent the tears she had been fighting back from escaping.
- "Where have you been?" the man inquired once more, but this time with a hint of annoyance in his tone. "Do you know what time it is?"
- Blossom did not move at all, and instead continued to climb. The light came on after she had taken two steps, which made her gaze at her feet for a moment. The bitter tears that had been streaming from her eyes were now halted.
- "W-what about you? Where have you been all day?" Even though the pitch of her voice was off, she still attempted to say it in its entirety without taking her eyes from her feet. She was concerned that Leo could discover the truth about how she really felt.
- When Leo didn’t answer, Blossom couldn’t hold back her tears any longer. She sprinted to the guest room as her tears were like water on a broken faucet. She avoided being in the same room with Leo at this time because she knew that doing so would make her appear to be a loser.
- It was probably for the best that she had a model shoot scheduled tomorrow. She needed to leave for New England at three in the morning because that was where the shoot and runaway walk would take place. Even yet, people would still be able to identify her due to the fact that Leopold Fontaine was well-known all over the world as being one of the most successful young business tycoons, and they were aware that she was his wife.
- As she pondered deeply again, she had no idea that she had completely fallen asleep, and the alarm clock on her phone was the stimulus that brought her back to consciousness. Even though she didn't want to get up yet, she went straight to Leo's room to get a suitcase and pack some clothes because she knew that she would be in New England for a week. She would also take advantage of that day to get all of the thoughts that have been going through her head out of her system.
- Upon entering the room, she noticed that the king-size bed had not even been moved from its previous place. It appeared Leo didn't sleep here. A painful smirk appeared on lips as she considered the possibility that he had slept with Erin. She merely chose to disregard it and proceeded to get dressed, after which she showered and left.
- As she carried her suitcase down the stairs, she noticed that the light in the kitchen was already on. She would have disregarded that but she heard a plate shattering and smelled burned food. Her eyes immediately widened for fear that the kitchen was on fire.
- Nevertheless, when she arrived there, she didn't discover a kitchen that was on fire; instead, she saw her husband wearing an apron while wielding a spatula. The egg that he was frying was already burned. As she wandered her eyes off the disorganized kitchen, she found it hard to comprehend what she was seeing.
- Blossom's only response when Leo looked up at her was a frown, followed by the question, "What are you doing?"
- "Are you blind? You can see that I'm preparing breakfast."
- "You're just cooking, so why does it appear like a tornado just went through our house?" Blossom made her way over to Leo and took the spatula because if she left suddenly, their mansion could catch fire, therefore she needed to make sure that everything was okay before she could leave even though she was already late.
- When she was finished, she placed the burnt egg on the dining table, held her waist, and looked at her husband with raised eyebrows, "If you wanted to eat, you should have told me so that I cook for you. You may also just order online, or you could call a helper."
- “I don’t like that.”
- "Why?"
- "Don't make it a habit to ask a lot of questions. Let's go." Leo dragged Blossom including her suitcase after he removed his apron.
- "Wait." Blossom made an effort to take Leo's hand away, but she was more powerful than she was. "I’m late on my errands now! I'm sorry, but I really don't have time for this."
- "Exactly. That’s why I’m dragging you because we are already late."
- As a result of what he said, she stopped walking, stared confusedly behind him and asked, "What do you mean by ‘we are’?
