Chapter 3 The Unexpected Bouncer

  • “Good Morning Mam. Today we have 3rd and 4th period off. If you don’t mind, can you give me some time”.
  • “It will be
  • my pleasure, Sanchita. But why do you prefer a new teacher to discuss something
  • which is very personal”.
  • With round
  • eyes and brows raised, Sanchita spoke out in confusion.
  • “Mam, how do you know that I have some personal talks?”
  • “After all, your Mam Enaya is Masters in Psychology. I am trained to unveil the blocked
  • junctions of human minds”.
  • “Sanchita, the way you try let the world recognize you is just an illusion, a mirage created to bluff others. If you think you are all alone and nobody matches your temperament, why you choose me to share your unexplored mind”.
  • “Mam, you are the first person who realized that I have a different attitude, which is normal but unacceptable by the mass. With these words, Sanchita loosened the top Knot and let her hairs fall on her shoulders. As she arranged her hairs, Miss Enaya couldn’t stop herself speaking out...
  • “Wow, you
  • are a girl of enchanting beauty, have you ever realized? Why don’t you dress in
  • a different outlook? This ruffian looks don’t suits you”.
  • “Mam this was not what I was expecting from you. Fashion you can buy, but style is learning who you are, which takes years. There is no how-to road map to style. It’s about self expression and above all attitude.
  • MY ATTITUDE
  • IS MY STYLE”.
  • Miss Enaya realized, her words somehow hurted Sanchita.
  • “Mam I am not angry nor am I upset. I am in search of somebody. For this, I have to expertise in different fields. Regarding studies and results I don’t give a single chance to my teachers, my parents and about rest.........I don’t give a damn. It’s not my pride, it’s my belief: just need your blessings”.
  • “Mam, you didn’t even ask me why I adapted /preferred this ruffian looks whereas we have
  • no uniforms”.
  • Miss Enaya totally confused, raised both her hands and murmured in a low tone, “ I don’t
  • know why Sanchi”.
  • “I was waiting for you Mam; by the way the way you called me Sanchi, I liked it. From today, please call me Sanchi always; it will always remind me about you.'
  • Days rolled,
  • Sanchita topped in all the exams as if understanding, memorizing and writing
  • was deep rooted in her DNA. Now, it’s time for her to leave the college with excellence touching her feet.
  • “Sanchita, the Principal wants to have a talk with you at the final hour”, one of her class mates gave her the information”.
  • With silent
  • steps, she forwarded towards the Principal’s office and extremely surprised at
  • the warm welcome by all the college Professors.
  • “Sir, I was not expecting this. I think, I have hurted the prestige of this college several times. Just because I topped among all the colleges of the city, you all arranged a party for me........I don’t deserve this. Please don’t make ashamed of my Karmas”.
  • The situation became serious and everybody in the office was numb stuck.
  • “Sorry; if my words hurted you all”.
  • “First have your seat Sanchita; we have called you for a discussion. We heard that you are ending up your studies. You are the best student of our college and you have a brilliant academic career. You cannot stop your academic career midway”.
  • Sanchita listened keenly what the Principal said and gave a smile.
  • “So, Sir, you forgot, I slapped Annie in the class and she became unconscious, acted as one of the greatest rebel of my time in demanding uniforms rather than accepting fancy dress in college, a time when my love had moved into the realms of fantasy. Academic career is not the ultimate, Sir”.
  • “If I say, the party was arranged by Miss Enaya, will you still be offended”.
  • Sanchita felt a warm touch at her shoulders from behind.
  • “It’s not fair Mam Enaya; I am not a good girl”. Her silent tears were enough for the Professors to admit her sincerity and fearlessness.
  • “So, what are you planning now”, asked Miss Enaya softly.
  • “Mam, I will go for learning an occult practice, please don’t ask what and where?”
  • “By the way, Sanchita did you realized, you had appeared for a sudden interview and the result was already fixed”. The Principal raised his brows as he spoke.
  • “Our Managing Committee was searching for a Professor of Psychology, especially a
  • Lady Professor”.
  • “And you got Miss Enaya”, spoke out Sanchita.
  • “If I say, Sanchita you are the one whom we have selected and so you are sitting with us”.
  • Sanchita shivered and rubbed her arms up and down to get rid of goose bumps.
  • “Sorry Sir, I didn’t catch that. What about Miss Enaya”.
  • “She saw herself in you and now it’s your responsibility to show paths to the generations next. Miss Enaya is going for higher studies and she believed that she will meet you in near future.
  • “Sir, I seldom watch cricket but realized today, it was an unexpected bouncer. Challenge accepted............it’s only for you Mam Enaya”.
  • The entire staff room was filled with laughter

  • "Do you have
  • afternoon tea in your restaurant?”
  • “Yes Mam”.
  • “Two tea and two sandwiches”.
  • “Enaya........Where your mind is? Are you ok?"
  • “No Ryan, I am not ok. Is it possible for a girl to search a boy whom she loved but was not
  • in contact for almost 5 years to 6 years?
  • “Now a days, it is the day of technology, it is possible, Enaya”.
  • “What if it is one sided love and the girl has no information of her love”.
  • “Are you sure, whatever you are speaking is true”.
  • “My mind says, it’s true, I have seen her eyes, studied her min."
  • Enaya waited for some time, took her cell phone and gave a call to the college clerk.
  • “Hello, Mr. Kumar, sorry to disturb you, please give me the cell number of Sanchita Yogi, the college topper.

  • “Hello,
  • Sanchita, it’s me Enaya Mam. Give me direct answer, if you really believe me. What is his
  • name and batch no. From tomorrow we will not be in contact but my best wishes
  • will be always with you”.
  • “VASTAV
  • KAUSHIK, in short VASU, batch 2008”, with these words Sanchita disconnected the
  • call.
  • “I don’t know what relation Sanchi have with Vasu. But somehow I will have to find the missing link. Oh Allah, show me the way”.
  • As Enaya closed her eyes and prayed to Allah, a bright light flashed inside her inner
  • core and an image came into dominance.........
  • “THE CORPORATE PATHSHAALA”
