Chapter 5 Joining the Group

• The next day, Halie arrived early at Horizon Group to start her new job.
• The company was well aware of Halie's credentials; therefore, they treated her with respect and politeness.
• "Ms. Lane, welcome to Horizon Group!" Tamara Hampton from the HR department extended her hand with a smile.
• Halie smiled back and shook Tamara's hand.
• "I'm surprised, Ms. Lane, to be so young and beautiful!" Tamara complimented.
• Halie chuckled and said, "Ms. Hampton, you're just as impressive to become the HR manager at such a young age!" Halie knew the importance of flattery in business interactions.
• Flattery never hurts.
• That's the rule in the business world.
• Tamara laughed and said, "Come on, I'll take you to the design department!"
• Halie nodded.
• They walked towards the design department together.
• As they arrived, Tamara clapped her hands and announced, "Everyone, stop what you're doing for a moment. I'd like to introduce a new colleague!"
• The employees in the design department paused their work and turned to look at Tamara and Halie.
• "Everyone, this is Halie Lane, who just returned from Ereles. She will be joining your team!" Tamara introduced Halie with a smile.
• The design department, consisting of both men and women, stared at Halie and admired her beauty.
• However, Halie stood humbly and smiled gently, making it hard for anyone to dislike her.
• Tamara glanced at Halie and signalled for her to step forward and introduce herself.
• Halie stepped up and said, "Hello, everyone, I'm Halie Lane. I hope you can take good care of me in the future."
• "Welcome, welcome," someone said.
• Halie returned the smile to the person.
• "Our design department has gained another beauty," a male colleague remarked with a smile.
• Tamara and Halie both laughed. "Yes, our design department is full of beautiful people!" Tamara joked, lightening the atmosphere in the room.
• Tamara then called over someone and instructed, "Coco, Ms. Lane is new here. Please help her with anything she needs."
• Coco Preston was a stylishly dressed woman. She nodded and said, "Sure, I will!"
• Tamara turned to Halie and reminded her, "You should report to the president later."
• Halie acknowledged it with a nod.
• "Alright, get to work. I'll be going now!" Tamara said.
• "Okay!" Halie nodded. She just joined the company, and Coco diligently helped her. She patiently explained everything Halie didn't understand.
• "Thank you, Coco!" Halie said it gratefully.
• Coco smiled and said, "No problem. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."
• Halie nodded and said, "Alright!"
• "Okay, you should get to work now. I'll get back to mine."
• "Sure, let's have lunch together sometime! My treat."
• "Definitely!"
• Coco smiled and left, while Halie sat at her desk. She looked around and felt rather satisfied with the company environment.
• Halie then immersed herself in her work.
• At noon, Coco came over. She invited Hailie to join her for lunch and offered to show her around.
• Halie closed her files and agreed, "Sure, let's go!"
• With smiles, they headed towards the cafeteria.
