- "Chewing gum in class is prohibited Gwen." Mr. Boyd's tone is rough as he glares at Gwen from across the room. "You better swallow it or throw it in the trash." His eyes narrowed, daring her to argue.
- Gwen's confused eyes turn to me as she chews the gum obnoxiously. "What does prohibited mean? Oh don't look at me like that, you know my brain hasn't updated to that level yet."
