- Tommy sat rigidly with his hands rubbing at his jaw slowly. All he wanted was to be anywhere except this godforsaken room. Rumors had been flying out that they would come around soon, but he had turned a deaf ear to it. He should have avoided this trouble from the very beginning, but he was too self conceited to think of the end result.
- The one person he despised seeing or hearing his voice, Carlton spoke first. "You shouldn't just sit there like this doesn't matter, Tommy. For your own good you need to say something."
