Chapter 17 You Are Pregnant?
- She was upset with my answer, and she still doubted it, “That’s impossible. There’s no way you can look so good without makeup.”
- I appreciated her compliment, but I was well aware of my beauty.
- After all, my ex-husband took advantage of my beautiful look in exchange for his promotion.
- Speaking of that, the desire to dig out the truth had been in my genes.
- However, at this moment, I felt worn-out and I really wanted to let go of the bloody truth.
- Yao Keyi continued to do her makeup while I shifted my attention back to the phone to keep myself busy—
- Until Sang Qi finally showed up in the elevator.
- “He’s here,” I reminded her.
- In the very next second, Yao Keyi had rushed up to him, dragging me along with her.
- She walked very fast even with those high heels and almost ran into Sang Qi.
- Sang Qi’s assistant, who looked tall and strong, reacted quickly and stopped us in time.
- Sang Qi caught the sight of us and frowned.
- He didn’t seem to be in a good mood and was definitely not pleased with this encounter.
- I was a bit hurt when I found that he looked at me in the same way that he looked at Yao Keyi.
- He thought we were the same, and I was just another woman who wouldn’t stop badgering him.
- However, that wasn’t the truth, and I couldn’t care less.
- Yao Keyi seized me by the arm and pushed me to Sang Qi, “Darling Sang, be careful with this woman! She’s just trying to get close to you, but she’s a terrible person.”
- The lobby was busy at present, and considering the fact that Sang Qi just had a meeting here, many of his acquaintances were probably still around.
- I spoke to Yao Keyi in a low voice, “This is not the right place to talk.”
- She glared at me, “Stop playing nice! I know what you are thinking!”
- Sang Qi ignored her and strode out of the lobby.
- Yao Keyi hurried to follow him all the way to the parking lot.
- Her desperately chasing after a man made me very uncomfortable.
- Sang Qi’s assistant opened the door for him and he got in without giving us another look, “Yao Keyi, I made it clear yesterday. You can’t be my girlfriend.”
- Oh, she was dumped. That explained why she came after me so angrily.
- “No!” Yao Keyi cried and grabbed Sang Qi’s arm, “You can’t leave me for this woman! Do you know that she’s married? She’s a slut and she’s pregnant with another man’s baby not long after getting married!”
- Obviously, Yao Keyi had looked into my background thoroughly.
- Hearing that, Sang Qi froze and turned to me, “You are pregnant?”
- I could tell that his confusion was an instinctive reaction.
- When digesting surprising news, people tended to be confused at first and then they would gradually accept the fact.
- His initial reaction showed he didn’t know that I was pregnant.
- If he just slept with me, it was perfectly understandable that he didn’t know about it.
- Yet, he kept me in that villa and ordered me to give birth to the baby. What was wrong? I didn’t understand.
- Judging from his expression, he wasn’t acting.
- I began to tremble all over, not sure if it was because of the coldness or fright.
- I felt terrified to realize that I actually hoped for Sang Qi to be the father.
- Why?
- Was it for his appearance or his wealth?
- I freed myself from Yao Keyi’s control and walked to her car.
- She shouted behind me, “Where are you going? Come back and tell him everything!”
- Since she wouldn’t let Sang Qi go, she didn’t come after me at once.
- My snacks were still in her car, which was not far from Sang Qi’s, so I said loudly to Yao Keyi, “Open the door. I need to get my snacks.”
- Sang Qi had pushed her away and now she was dealing with his assistant.
- She was too busy to respond, but I was sick and tired of her love game.
- “Open the door, Yao Keyi!” I raised my voice and picked up a brick, “If you don’t, I’ll just smash it!”
- She glanced at me, “Don’t you dare!”
- She thought I didn’t dare, but apparently, she didn’t know me well.
- I hit the window with a lot of force, but the first attempt failed.
- It seemed that the quality of her sports car was worth its price. Just as I was about to give it another try...
- Yao Keyi rushed to me, crying out, “Crazy bitch!”
- She was worried about her car. Once she opened the door for me, I got in. She didn’t quite follow my actions, “What do you want?”
- “Take me home.”
- We were far away from the city center and it was hard to get a taxi here.
- Besides, I didn’t want to waste the money I earned with my pride and dignity.
- Before Yao Keyi could react, Sang Qi’s car sped up and left us behind.
- She broke out and shouted, “Darling Sang! My darling!”
- I took out a piece of gum and started to chew while she cried.
- She started the engine while the tears washed away her makeup.
- When she calmed down a bit, she started to swear at me, “Even if I can’t be his girlfriend, you won’t have a chance, you slut!”
- “I never want to be with him.” The gum was so chewy that even my cheeks felt sore.
- “You are lying.”
- “I just met him a few days ago. Why would I want to be his girlfriend?”
- “But he’s rich and handsome! Why don’t you want to be with him?” She was amazed.
- “That makes no difference to me.” I was amused by her reaction, “There are numerous rich men in this world. Do you want to date every one of them?”
- “You can’t fool me! You like him. You are just afraid to admit it.”
- I was afraid of nothing.
- But when I turned around and looked toward the front, I had to admit that I literally freaked out.
- “Watch out! Yao Keyi!”
- She paid no attention to driving while arguing with me.
- So, she panicked when she saw a car dashing towards us.
- She screamed and steered right abruptly. Her car narrowly avoided a crash with the oncoming car, but she was also about to hit the fence right next to the sidewalk.
- “Brake! You idiot!” I shouted to remind her, but it was too late.
- The airbag deployed itself due to the huge impact. I felt a sharp pain in my face.
- I put my hands over my belly instinctively to protect the baby. Luckily, it wasn’t hurt.
- Thank goodness, I survived.
- Yao Keyi burst out crying, “Help! Help! My face! It must be ruined! Can anyone help?”
- I struggled to turn to her. There was no blood on her face and her loud screaming indicated that she was not seriously injured. “Did you get a nose job?”
- She was terrified, “Is my nose broken? Did something fall out?”
