Chapter 12 The Unexpected Kneeling

• Everyone in the hall was bewildered, and their dazed expressions were amusing. What was going on? Why did Jonah want to speak with Anthony?
• Everyone was stunned, including Steven, Peter, Justin, and even Anthony. Anthony was merely a poor student who just came to New York. How did he get involved with the famous Third Master?
• “I’m Anthony. What’s the matter?” Anthony answered suspiciously.
• Jonah looked surprised and asked, “You?” He then quickly took out a photo and compared it with Anthony’s facial profile. Upon Jonah’s discovery, his face turned pale. The person standing in front of him was indeed Anthony Stewart!
• “Master Stewart, I… I was wrong…” Jonah cried bitterly. The next moment, to everyone’s astonishment, he knelt in front of Anthony.
• Gasp! Hundreds of guests in the hall could not help but let out a small yelp. Their eyes widened, and their necks stretched out like the giraffes’. What was going on? Why did the highly esteemed Third Master of New York kneel before Anthony?
• Anthony was dumbfounded. Am I too handsome that even the Third Master worships me? He thought to himself. “Hey, Third Master, is this a mistake? I can’t afford to have you kneel before me… Please get up…”
• Anthony tried to get Jonah to stand up but he refused. “Master, you must forgive me. I… I didn’t know you’re Master Stewart and I’ve offended you…I must be damned…” As he spoke, the Third Master started slapping himself.
• The slapping sound echoed loudly in the silent room.
• What was wrong with the Third Master?
• Anthony was perplexed. “Third Master, what are you talking about? Can you please explain yourself? You’re making things awkward!” Anthony started recalling his life. He could not remember any encounters with a master in the past 20 years or so.
• When Anthony reminded him, Jonah suddenly smacked his head for his forgetfulness. “I forgot to tell you that Master Ezra Verde is on the way here to find you. By the way, take a look at this picture. It’s my master’s photo. Master said you’ll understand everything when you see him!”
• As he was speaking, Jonah handed another photo to Anthony. Anthony took a look at it, and he was taken aback. It was the old man.
• In the photo, the sloppy old man was holding the Carnelian stone bracelet while laughing, revealing his big yellow stained tooth.
• Wasn’t he the old man I met at the train station? Is Jonah the old man’s apprentice? What does he mean by his master is on his way here?
• Seeing the picture of the old man, Anthony suddenly recalled the Carnelian stone bracelet the old man gave him at the train station. First, the old man gave him this bracelet, and he could then see through things. After that, Jonah addressed him as his master… Why did everything feel like a conspiracy?
• Anthony was overwhelmed by the information. He shook his head and said, “Okay. Since I’m your master, how do you think we should resolve this matter?” Anthony thought that having such a badass apprentice in New York would make his life so much easier.
• “Don’t worry. I’ll handle everything,” Jonah stood up from the ground and yelled at Justin, who looked bewildered, “come here!”
