Chapter 38 Chase

• The group leader gazed at Clare with narrow eyes before nodding his head silently in agreement. Two of his group members then headed out to make sure Xavier and Clare wouldn’t make a run for it.
• The couple was then allowed to leave the diner, the other three following closely behind him. Xavier had an arm wrapped tightly around Clare’s waist as the two walked with the group out to the parking lot.
• Do you have everything important in that bag? Xavier suddenly mind-linked her.
