Chapter 20 Rejection

• Stefan gasped with delight. "Really? That's amazing news!" he said, pretending he was surprised. "I knew you could do it! Congratulations!" He added, beaming joyfully, genuinely happy for his wife. After all, Amber deserves to get the job.
• While cooking their dinner, Stefan ordered his assistant to ensure the hiring team would contact Amber, informing her she got the job. The team had to work overtime under Stefan’s instruction and in return promised to be paid triple.
• The employees were confused as to why they had to do the task immediately when they could do it the next day instead. Even Norman was confused about his boss's effort to help Amber, he knew they were in a contracted marriage that would last as long as his boss wanted to.
