Chapter 7
- Chapter 7
- Nyla’s POV
- In the end I didn't sleep last night because of what happened. After he left there standing alone, making me feel guilty over what I had said. I went back to my room and tried to get some sleep but what had happened earlier keeps repeating in my mind until morning. Now I am feeling so sleepy that my eyes will close itself while walking. I could feel my head being pounded by a hammer.
- Damn it.
- “ Good morning Mrs. Adair , did you sleep well last night?” Mrs. Victoria greets and asks in a worried voice while looking at my appearance.
- I really didn't care what she said because I am so sleepy and my head hurts from the lack of sleep “ Morning, no didn't sleep well because I have argument with him last night and it didn't left my mind because I am guilty which led for me not to sleep at all” I bluntly explained what had happened.
- “ Oh that's not good, you should just stay at home and sleep then Mrs. Adair, “ Mrs. Victoria suggested in a worried voice.
- I just laughed at her without any care. “ No need to be worried, I'm alright and I need to go to work because there are still documents that I need to work on in my office “ I said, dismissing her suggestion.
- “But you need to rest, Mrs. Adair,” Mrs. Victoria insisted.
- Because of the lack of sleep and my headache “ Argh! Just shut up and mind your own business will you?! You are just a maid and not my mom!” I shouted angrily at her. Which was a surprise and I immediately regretted what I had just said.
- Sh*t what I have done?!
- “I am so-”
- “ I understand Mrs. Adair, I apologize for crossing my boundaries” Mrs. Victoria apologized as she bowed down and left me alone.
- No… it was my fault, this is what happens when I don't have enough sleep, I lose my temper immediately when someone will insist that I already said it's okay. What had happened right now.
- Damn it.
- I went to work early without Mr. Cruz and I don't really care what he will think but I just need space to think alone.
- Van’s POV
- “ Where is she?” I asked Mrs. Victoria.
- When I arrived she was not in the dining room and I could feel the tension inside the room. I looked at Mrs. Victoria who was standing there silently.
- “ Mrs. Adair left early to go to work, without riding the car“ She explained with a worried voice.
- I could sense something had happened based on the tone Mrs. Victoria is using “ What had happened?” I asked.
- “ It was my fault, I was just worried about how pale Mrs. Adair was when I saw her earlier. She explained that you two have argued and She didn't have enough sleep last night “ Mrs. Victoria explained what had happened. “ And I insisted that she just stay at home and rest and she got angry and I apologized for crossing the line”
- Yes we had an argument last night and it's partly my fault for being a bit cold and harsh on my words. I just didn't want her to think of me as a bad boss to my employees. I didn't know she would have trouble sleeping after what happened last night.
- “ Don't worry Mrs. Victoria, it’s not your fault don't blame yourself too much” I reassured Mrs. Victoria not to dwell on it too much.
- “ Still I am worried about that child, her face is so pale that I think Mrs. Adair is sick” Mrs. Victoria explained her worries.
- “ Fine , I'll go and check on her on my way to work“ I said to Mrs. Victoria to make her forget her worries.
- Mrs. Victoria finally smiled at me “ Thank you and Sir you really must start caring for your wife and stop arguing with her “ Mrs. Victoria said her thanks and gave me some pointers.
- After drinking my coffee , I prepared to go to work and after I went to ride in my car, I instructed my driver to go to the cafe where my wife is working.
- Nyla's POV
- When I arrived at the cafe, everyone was already there working. I proceeded to my office and started to work but because of my headache I couldn't seem to focus and I gave up working. Just stared blankly on the wall in resignation.
- Damn it.
- Nothing is working for me right now. Maybe Mrs. Victoria is right. I should've just stayed home and slept in my room. I can't just leave my work here when I have a lot to do.
- “ Right, how should I apologize to Mrs. Victoria? “ I asked myself, thinking of how to say sorry to her.
- Maybe she should kneel and bow 24 times in front of her? Or give her something and say sorry? Will she accept my apology? Argh!! This is hard , I don't know anything about Mrs. Victoria.
- Remembering about it earlier I could see Mrs. Victoria’s expression that she was very hurt by the words I said to her. Which gives me the impression that she will not accept my apology.
- “ Argh! Stupid mouth!” I scolded myself and smacked my mouth.
- I just need to do my best so that she will forgive me for what I said to her this morning. You can do this .
- Van’s Pov
- When I arrived at the cafe , there were a lot more customers than the last time I came. I immediately went to the front where some employees were working.
- “ Excuse me” I called out to get their attention.
- A familiar woman glanced at my direction and immediately recognized me “ Oh you were the man last time who ordered a bunch of coffees! “ She commented in surprise.
- Yes, last time I bought a lot of coffee just to get to talk to her when I came in here.
- “ Yes, where is my wife?” I asked her immediately.
- She looks confused “ Wife? I don't know your wife sir but do you want to order again like last time?” She asked in excited voice,
- What a stupid woman, I don't have time for this nonsense. “ Yes same order and I want to talk to your manager or boss whatever “ I said demanding to see their boss which is my wife.
- “Eh? Okay right away sir! “ The woman got my order and talked to other employees.
- She came back again “ Why did you want to talk to our boss?” She asked in a nervous voice.
- “ Do I need to have a reason for me to talk to your boss?” I asked in a cold voice, I am getting impatient, how long should I stay in here standing?!
- “ Of course, you are right sir but “ she didn't finish her words and glance on my back which there are lot of people lining up to order “I am really sorry sir but we are really busy right now sir, you can go back later when it's not busy I can't walked you to the boss office because I can't leave the counter “ she apologize.
- I understood what she said. “ Okay I understand,” I replied and walked away from the counter.
- Which is why I am going to walk there on my own without anyone guiding me there. I glance at the counter again and see that the staff are really busy, I slip out to the location of her office without being suspicious.
- When I arrived in front of her office, I didn't hesitate to open and stepped inside. I am still amazed at how neat and professional her office is. I slowly walked towards her desk and noticed that someone was deeply sleeping on some documents.
- “ Here you are sleeping soundly when Victoria is worried about you getting sick” I commented as I gently fixed her hair.
- I could feel how warm and hot her body temperature was. Wait, hot? I didn't hesitate to touch her forehead and feel how hot it was.
- Damn she really got sick.
