Chapter 18 Expelled from the Family

• After issuing his stern ultimatum, Bennett turned sharply and walked out of the room.
• "Vanessa, did you catch that?" George said with a smirk, clearly pleased with himself. "You've got three days to sort this out with Mr. Mendez. If you fail, your entire family will be expelled from the Smiths. As far as I know, a family decree has never been issued before, right?"
• The family decree was the highest authority within the Smiths, a formal document issued personally by the head of the family. Only one such decree could be made each year.
