• I could feel my heart racing in sync with the intense scenes unfolding on the TV, sharing the gripping Detective Jimson drama with Natasha. Suddenly, a knock on the front door shattered my concentration. Neither of us budged to respond, our reluctance palpable. My gaze stayed fixed on the TV, and then the knock echoed again, more forceful and persistent. Cursing at the unwelcome interruption, I groaned, pondering who could disturb us at such a late hour. The boys wouldn't bother with a knock.
