Chapter 2 My Secret

  • After dressing up, I hailed a cab and went to the villa where the charity auction was held.
  • In the car, memories came flashing in my mind, reminding me of all that happened before.
  • My parents passed away four years ago from a car accident. And it was Feng Shi who had been with me through thick and thin.
  • I fell for his care and kindness and accepted his marriage proposal after half a year.
  • After our marriage, Feng Shi resigned from his high pay job abroad and joined my father's real estate company. He was positioned as the President while I became a homemaker, expecting for pregnancy.
  • I thought the fairy-tale ended there. But half a month ago, when I returned from my trip abroad, I caught my cousin, Lin Luoluo having sex with my husband in our villa.
  • Only then did I realize, Feng Shi and Lin Luoluo had long been a couple while they were abroad. Marrying me was just a tactic of that bastard to get his hands on my family's company.
  • By then, Ye family's company had been overtaken by Feng Shi and nobody recognized me as their Miss anymore.
  • Since the villa incident, that filthy couple got more presumptuous and made no effort to hide their love for each other in front of me.
  • All my assets and properties were taken away by Feng Shi. I hated them, but I knew there was nothing I could do about it.
  • In the midst of my despair, I received a message from an unknown number. He said that he would help me to get back what once belonged to me as long as I become his woman.
  • Initially, I thought it was a joke. Bu then, he sent me confidential files regarding Feng Shi's mismanagement to prove that he was serious.
  • Even with those files, I was hesitant to sell my body to a stranger. It was until when Feng Shi started compelling me for a divorce and threatening to auction off my mother's relics that I've made up my mind.
  • “Miss, we have arrived at your destination.”
  • “Thank you.”
  • The driver's reminder pulled me back to reality. I composed myself and got off the cab after paying.
  • I hold onto my handbag as I walked towards the villa. As I reached the reception for registration, I saw someone whom I never wanted to meet.
  • Lin Luoluo was wearing a light-yellow fishtail dress while holding onto Feng Shi's arm in front of the entrance. The man wore a dark silver tuxedo, looking fine as ever. Both of them looked good standing next to each other.
  • I was filled with anger and sorrow as they displayed their affection for each other in public. But I quickly controlled my swaying emotion as I remembered my motive for coming to this event.
  • “Oh my! Isn't this Ye Huan? Why did you come to this charity auction? I thought you're dead broke. Don't tell me you're here to do something despicable?”
  • Lin Luoluo's piercing voice rang at my ear. Hearing her, I turned around and found the couple walking towards me, hand-in-hand. The bit*h's face was full of smugness and malice.
  • On the other hand, Feng Shi looked at me with a complex expression. He stopped in front of me and spoke with a soft voice while lowering his head, “Ye Huan, as long as you agree with the divorce, I will return your parents' relics to you and give you enough alimony to spend for the rest of your life.”
  • His tone was filled with remorse which I thought was sarcastic, and I did let out a laugh.
  • “Feng Shi, you actually wanted to give me money? Tell me, how much of it was from the Ye family? And now you want to buy your freedom using my money?”
  • “Ye Huan, don't you dare give me that tone! I'm giving you an out now! If you reject it, there'd be a day you come begging me!”
  • “Shi, don't waste your time on her. I feel heartbroken when you get angry like this.”
  • Lin Luoluo came up to Feng Shi and hold onto his arm intimately. They walked pass the reception and stopped to turn around, waiting for me to cause a scene.
  • I ignored them and walked up to the reception instead.
  • But before I could say anything, the receptionist smiled and asked, “Miss, may I have your invitation card?”
  • Invitation card?
  • I was stunned for a bit. How could I forget something this important?
