Chapter 7 The Scorpion Beast
- Max felt an overwhelming vertigo as soon as he entered the portal.
- Opening his eyes, he found himself in a place that looked vaguely familiar, but at the same time, he seemed to feel strangely distorted.
- This world was dark and desolate, similar to the human world he remembered living in before becoming a warrior, but this world was in ruins.
- Max had not noticed it, but his clothing changed, he no longer wore his warrior robe like the same one the guardians wore, rather, now, he wore a leather suit attached to his body, it is a decorated black suit with red. Even on his head, he only wore a black mask that had been glued to his eyes.
- The buildings and other constructions of the city have been destroyed by an inexplicable force, everything was on the ground living among rubble, smoke and dirt. The sky is perfectly covered with black clouds. There are no signs of human life, only the echo of the wind howling through the empty streets.
- The air is charged with a sense of imminent danger. Max moved forward cautiously, his senses kept alert. With each step he took, they resonated in the midst of the sepulchral silence, further amplifying the loneliness that invaded the place.
- So, Max decided to explore a little, hoping to find some clue that would be useful in finding the woman's whereabouts. Max was desperate, and eager to find her safe and sound.
- And deep inside him, he prayed that the guardians were not furious with him for having disobeyed them and having traveled to a world that is not his, and even less so without his consent. His instinct led him towards an abandoned building, almost on the verge of collapsing.
- The facade of the building is covered with a vine of thorns and carnivorous plants that are capable of eating an entire human with just one bite.
- Suddenly, a dull, resounding noise emerged from inside the building, hitting its walls like an echo. Max stopped walking, his heart was pounding because he was scared of whatever was going to come his way, even if he was a warrior, he was still a human who was easily scared by the unknown.
- Then, a gigantic shadow emerged from the shadows. The beast has the appearance of a colossal scorpion, with a shiny black shell that glows in the darkness. Its eyes are red and burned with an imposing ferocity, its tail is long and sharp, and it moved with a hypnotic and lethal movement.
- Max looked at that creature with horror, because it is the most horrifying creature he has seen since he became a warrior. Compared to the lava creatures, this monster is much more imposing, and it can be seen that it is even much more powerful than any other creature...
- The creature lunged at Max with such surprising speed, its pincers snapping with a terrifying sound. Max didn't know how the creature was able to see him in absolute darkness, but then he thought about it; His eyes, through the color of his eyes, is that this creature could see into the darkness.
- Max jumped back, drawing his hand sword in a fluid motion because Max knew very well how to use it. But, and, he quickly realized that that sword was not going to be his best defense weapon. Then, the creature let out a deafening roar that Max never imagined a scorpion would be capable of.
- The scorpion's breath stank of death and decay.
- “Damn it!” Max exclaimed, preparing for the upcoming fight.
- The beast attacked again, this time, using its pointed tail, it whipped it into the air with great force, causing the little stability that maintained the ruined building to last forever. Since several pieces of rubble fell from the ceiling quickly, and if it had not been for Max's good reflexes, he would probably be stuck in a nest of rubble looking for a way out, or perhaps dead.
- Seeing himself on the verge of being defeated, and with a war cry, Max launched a slash of air towards one of the creature's legs, managing to make a scratch on its hard shell that caused slight bleeding.
- The beast immediately retreated, emitting a high-pitched screech, giving Max signs of pain thanks to his attack.
- It was there that Max decided to take advantage of the scorpion's moment of distraction to attack it again, because if he did not defeat the beast, it was most likely that Max would suffer its fury and the beast would choose to chase him, and without resting until he had finished with him.
- At that moment, the scorpion wound began to heal magically, and Max's ring began to shine with a much greater intensity than before, as if he were waiting for the urgency of that encounter to demonstrate his power to him your chosen one.
- “Come on, buddy, you can do it. Give me some power, now!” Max muttered desperately.
- Suddenly, he felt a surge of energy coursing through his body.
- The ring emitted a blinding flash of light, and Max felt its strength increase uncontrollably. With renewed determination and new power, Max launched a devastating attack on the scorpion, managing to break one of its pincers.
- The beast roared in pain and fury.
- Max tried to recover, because when he screamed, he swung to the ground, but he was able to hold on so as not to fall. The ring has caused him to lose a little energy, but he doesn't have much left, since the scorpion was running out of energy, one more attack, and he would end up dead.
- The creature shook violently, trying to regain its energy to knock Max down.
- But Max was more agile, and rushed to attack.
- The ring gave him the power that Max needed, the warrior bent his knees, and taking great momentum, he launched himself into the air and ended up falling on top of the scorpion. The strong blow of his feet was enough for the beast, as the scorpion ended up collapsing to the ground, with his face hitting it. Then, a voice in his mind told Max what he had to do: “Max, in the scorpion's head, there is a red diamond, it is very small, that's why you couldn't see it. That is its weak point, hit it until there are many pieces of the diamond left and until its shine goes out, if it doesn't go out, hit it again a second time, that will be enough for the scorpion to finally die and you can win this battle.
- “Understood,” Max whispered.
- Max approached the head of the scorpion. Fortunately, the animal remained completely still on the ground and Max was able to hold on to it without risking falling to the ground. And, following the orders of the voice in his head, with one fist, Max hit the red diamond that dazzled with brilliance before his eyes and landed on the scorpion's head. The diamond is not very big, nor very small, but Upon seeing it, Max knew that defeating the scorpion was going to be a piece of cake.
