Chapter 2 Marrying For Money
- Upon entering the Yang family's estate, Nian Xunxia hurriedly made her way to Yang Chuxia's room.
- Yang Chuxia was happily humming a song while sketching the design for the upcoming competition.
- "Why did you treat me like this, Yang Chuxia?!" Nian Xunxia's eyes turned red, and anger flickered in her gaze.
- All these years of enduring mistreatment from the Yang family had only increased the pressure from Yang Chuxia. And now, she had even tarnished Nian Xunxia's innocence!
- Startled by Nian Xunxia's sudden intrusion, Yang Chuxia's pen slipped, and a hint of evasion flashed in her eyes. "Nian Xunxia, what have I done to you?"
- "You drugged my drink last night, don't think I don't know! It was just a spot in the competition, was it necessary to be so malicious?" Nian Xunxia pointed at her own nose, questioning with a mix of anger and grievance in her voice.
- "You're just a beggar saved by the Yang family's charity. You're not even worthy of shining my shoes. Whatever I do to you, you should just obediently accept it." Yang Chuxia sneered, a contemptuous smile curling up at the corner of her mouth, completely disregarding Nian Xunxia.
- "I will inform Madam Yang about this. The Yang family has indeed been kind to me, and I will work hard to repay them in the future. But I won't allow you to trample on me!" Nian Xunxia clenched her hands tightly by her side, a surge of anger building up in her chest. Her anger caused her body to tremble, and her cheeks flushed unusually.
- Her eyes filled with fury as she glared at Yang Chuxia.
- "Go ahead and tell her. I'd like to see whose side my mom will take." Yang Chuxia smirked, a mischievous glint in her eyes, and then she averted her gaze, dismissing Nian Xunxia.
- Nian Xunxia bit her lip, forcing herself to hold back the tears in her eyes in front of her enemy.
- Yang Chuxia was the beloved daughter of the Yang family, while she was just an orphan supported by them. How could she compare her position in Madam Yang's heart to Yang Chuxia's?
- Just because she was poor and didn't have the same fortunate fate of being born into a wealthy and influential family like Yang Chuxia, did that give Yang Chuxia the right to do whatever she pleased to her?
- She refused to accept this injustice! She didn't want to suffer in vain!
- "Fine, I'll go tell Madam Yang right now!" Just as Nian Xunxia was leaving Yang Chuxia's room, she ran into Butler Liu, who had a kind smile on his face. "Xunxia, you're here. Perfect timing, Madam wants to discuss something with you. Come with me."
- She hadn't had a good time in the orphanage. It was the Yang family who had been supporting her education. Whenever she had a break, she would come to the Yang family to work and repay their kindness. Uncle Liu didn't find it strange to see her at the Yang family.
- She wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, clenched her fists, and a firm determination flashed in her eyes. "Good, I also have something to discuss with Madam!"
- After Uncle Liu brought Nian Xunxia to the living room, he left. Nian Xunxia stood not far from the sofa, lowered her head, and glanced at the elegant and noble woman sitting on the sofa. She bit her lip and said, "Madam, I have something..."
- Sun Lan raised her head, a hint of a smile appearing on her cold and stern face, and she beckoned to Nian Xunxia. "Xunxia, come and sit."
- Nian Xunxia furrowed her brows. Sun Lan had always treated her well, but she had never been this enthusiastic before.
- Could it be that she knew what Yang Chuxia had done to her?
- But her reaction...
- She walked over in a daze and stood in front of Sun Lan, not daring to cross the line. "Madam, what can I do for you?"
- Sun Lan glanced at her fair face and got straight to the point. "The Yang family has treated you well all these years, right? Now the Yang family needs your help with a difficult matter. Are you willing or not?"
- Nian Xunxia slightly raised her eyes and met Sun Lan's gaze.
- The Yang family was a prestigious noble family in Yun City. What could they possibly need her help with?
- "Madam, please go ahead." Her attitude remained humble and respectful.
- She owed her current life to the Yang family. If the Yang family needed her, she had no reason to refuse.
- "I want you to marry Young Master Si Jincheng from the Si family as a substitute for Xia Xia." Sun Lan's voice was calm, but it carried an urgency that made it impossible for Nian Xunxia to resist.
- "Marry?" Nian Xunxia seemed to have heard something unbelievable and was dumbfounded.
- Last night, she had just been framed by Yang Chuxia and lost her innocence. This morning, Madam Yang said something so unbelievable.
- Did they think she was easy to bully?
- "Yes." Sun Lan nodded. "I know that your close friend has leukemia and urgently needs money for treatment. As long as you agree to be a substitute bride, the remaining medical expenses will be covered by the Yang family, and the kindness the Yang family has shown you over the years will be considered repaid. We will never use this as leverage again."
- She never entered a battle unprepared. She had already thought about how to persuade Nian Xunxia when she brought up this matter.
- Nian Xunxia had heard rumors about Si Jincheng. The girls who married into his family didn't remain widows for long.
- The little child Madam Yang mentioned was not her own younger brother, but he was more important to her than her own brother.
- She lost both of her parents at a young age and was sent to Sunshine Academy. She was introverted and didn't have many children to play with, only her younger brother dared to get close to her and would save the delicious food for her.
- Her brother was born with congenital leukemia and had yet to find a matching bone marrow donor. He could only rely on imported medication to prolong his life.
- If she didn't have the money to treat her brother's illness, his life might end at the age of 10. How could she bear it?
- After a long silence, she looked up at Sun Lan again, her tear-filled eyes filled with determination, as if she had made a great decision. "Alright, I promise you."
- "After this is done, please fulfill our agreement."
- Once she repaid the Yang family's favor, she would make Yang Chuxia pay for what she had done to her!
- Upon Nian Xunxia's hesitant consent, Sun Lan let out a sigh of relief, a subtle smile gracing her lips. "Certainly, as the matriarch of the Yang family, there is no need for me to deceive a young girl like you."
- Persecuting another girl for the sake of her daughter was never her intention. However, witnessing her daughter's heart-wrenching tears, how could she, as a mother, not feel distressed?
- Sun Lan wasted no time. Once they reached an agreement, she promptly arranged for Nian Xunxia to be sent to the Si family.
- As soon as Si Jincheng set foot into the Si family villa, Uncle Liu informed him that the young mistress was waiting in his room. His expression immediately darkened.
- The Yang family was currently facing a crisis and desperately needed the support of the Si family, which explained their eagerness to form a marital alliance.
- Earlier, he had received a call from his grandmother, informing him that she had taken the initiative to obtain their marriage certificate. He rushed home, only to find that the woman had shamelessly climbed into his bed!
