Chapter 5 Jealous

  • "Not allowed." And Lilly immediately lowered her head upon hearing his answer.
  • "Okay, I understand," Lilly murmured as she began to rise from Theodore's lap, intending to get up. But before she could, Theodore suddenly held her waist, commanding her body to come closer.
  • "Are you upset?" Lilly shook her head.
  • "No." Theodore cupped Lilly's beautiful face, gazing deeply into her beautiful eyes.
  • "I love your natural lip color, Lilly. To me, this shade of red is the most beautiful color I've ever seen," Theodore whispered, his thumb gently stroking Lilly's soft lips. Upon hearing the compliment, Lilly smiled.
  • "Then why did you go through all the trouble of buying those lipsticks? Wasn't that wasteful?" But instead of answering, Theodore smiled and leaned closer to Lilly, their lips meeting in a soft, uninterrupted kiss. Theodore didn't give Lilly a chance to look anywhere else but at him.
  • "I don't know. At that moment, all I could think about was her small lips. I imagined you while watching those women trying on those colors at the mall. And in the end, I bought all the colors for you, only for you..." Theodore whispered before gently kissing the beautiful lips of Lilly Brown.
  • Remembering that moment, Theodore smiled again like a crazy person. Even though they rarely met, somehow, beautiful moments always happened spontaneously when they were together. There were sweet memories in every encounter. And that was what made Theodore often come to the White Mansion at unpredictable times and days.
  • There was a time when he was willing to return to the White Mansion just to meet Lilly, even though his schedule was very tight because his flight to London would depart in three hours. If he followed his assistant's schedule, Theodore should have stayed in the nearest hotel until dawn. But because the desire to meet her was stronger, he foolishly returned to the White Mansion in the early hours of the morning, surprising everyone in the mansion with his arrival.
  • While thinking about all the moments they had together, Lilly suddenly woke up and looked at him with a melancholic gaze.
  • "Alford..." Theodore snapped out of his reverie and returned the gaze.
  • "Are you awake?" Lilly nodded weakly. Although not as bad as before, the headache still lingered in her head.
  • "Hmm. Are we not there yet?" Lilly asked, looking out the window. Theodore did the same, trying to guess their current location. As the car was about to enter the hotel area, Theodore looked at Lilly again.
  • "We'll be there soon. Get ready." Lilly immediately straightened her embrace. She started fixing her appearance before the car stopped at the hotel's entrance. Soon, a hotel staff opened the car door and saluted politely.
  • "Welcome, sir and miss." Theodore only nodded slightly.
  • "Let's go!" And swiftly, Theodore tightly held Lilly's hand, intertwining their fingers, and led her out of the car.
  • Meanwhile, in the hotel ballroom where the party was being held, the atmosphere was already bustling with many invited guests. Some of them were already dancing and enjoying the beautiful classical music playing.
  • However, it didn't apply to a beautiful woman who had been anxiously looking towards the entrance, waiting for someone she eagerly anticipated at this party. Clad in a dark green evening gown, she kept staring at the entrance, scrutinizing each arriving guest one by one.
  • "Hasn't he arrived yet?" The question made the woman turn her head, looking at a middle-aged man standing beside her. With a disappointed expression, she shook her head.
  • "Not yet, Daddy. Maybe he's too busy to come to my event," she said with a heavy heart. The middle-aged man, who was the woman's father, smiled and gently patted his daughter's shoulder.
  • "Don't worry, dear. Theodore will surely come. He will come because it's his fiancée's birthday party."
  • "But our relationship isn't as close as before, Dad. The last time we met, we even had a big fight and decided not to be together anymore," the woman said with a regretful face. But her father smiled again.
  • "Theodore will definitely come, Bianca. Theodore will come and meet you," he said to reassure his daughter. Bianca, the beautiful woman, took a deep breath and looked back at the entrance, hoping Theodore would be there.
  • And as expected, shortly after he noticed, the figure of Theodore Alford, whom he had been waiting for, appeared along with an unfamiliar woman. Theodore and Lilly, who had just arrived, immediately entered the party area. Some of Theodore's business colleagues approached, giving him a warm greeting.
  • "Alford! You made it?" asked a man in his dark blue tuxedo. Theodore, who recognized the man, smiled faintly.
  • "There's no reason for me not to come to this party, Leon." The man, none other than Leonel Maxmillan, chuckled and immediately focused his attention on Lilly.
  • "A new woman?" Theodore shrugged casually.
  • "What do you think?" Leon laughed softly at that response. And not long after...
  • "Alford!" Bianca approached Theodore, gently pulling him away from Lilly's grip and embracing him tightly.
  • "I thought you wouldn't come today," Bianca said, then released her embrace and gazed at Theodore with adoration. Getting such sudden attention from a woman who had once been in his heart, Theodore smiled faintly.
  • "There's no way I wouldn't come to your birthday party, Bianca," Theodore replied, making the woman laugh softly.
  • "Come on, let's meet my father. He has been waiting for you," Bianca invited, then immediately took Theodore's hand and dragged him to meet Gerald, Bianca's father. Unable to refuse, Theodore happily followed Bianca's steps.
  • Theodore left Lilly behind.
  • Lilly, who witnessed the intimate scene between Theodore and the beautiful woman, seemed unfazed. It was not surprising for her to see Theodore surrounded by beautiful and classy women, considering that he also had a handsome appearance and came from a prestigious family.
  • "Don't think too much about it. Alford is like that. He can't refuse Bianca's requests since long ago." Those words made Lilly turn her head, looking at Leon.
  • "What do you mean?" Leon then shifted his gaze towards Lilly and fell silent for a moment.
  • "I didn't mean to hurt you. But..." Leon closed the distance between them, leaning closer to Lilly's ear and whispered...
  • "It will be very difficult for you to get rid of Bianca because she is the only woman who has ever occupied Theodore Alford's heart."
  • Boom!
