Chapter 3 Almost Killed
- I trailed my eyes around, searching for the gorgeous man that I had seen yesterday, the one that I had been sold to and the one who was the boss to every soul in this mansion.
- And there he was, sitting across from me, behind a table, in his office. This wasn't the room that I thought it was, this was his study room. He didn't look up but he'd said something.
- "I didn't get to talk to you yesterday," He paused. His angelic voice lures me into the world of thoughts. He was damn alluring and very calculated. His suit hugs his body perfectly. His dark slicked hair almost made me damp my pant. He was by far a beauty.
- I realized too quickly that I was dozing into him,"Yes. And I want to speak to you yesterday. Okay, I'd start by saying, ``that man is not my father, you have to let me go, whatever business you both had is between you two, allow him to face the consequences and let me go." I complained bitterly though inwardly, I was denying the fact that I wanted to stay more because of him.
- Silence fell between us and I bit my lower lip. Had I spoken too much?. Maybe yes, but I needed this to sink into him. I needed him to know that I don't owe him. How could he agree to such a thing?.
- "Just don't keep a quiet, young man," I said, after waiting for a response.
- His ice blue eyes clashed with my emerald eyes and his face was stone.
- I swallowed up. He gets me uncomfortable with that look. I didn't break eye contact, and he didn't remove his eyes from mine.
- "Come closer," He said.
- I hesitated.
- He didn't need to repeat himself. I heard his drawer open and he took his gun out. My heart skipped.
- He placed his gun on the table and looked up.
- My legs moved. My eyes grazed him as I walked. My heartbeat escalated. Was he going to kill me if I disobeyed?. I didn't know this person, I don't even know this place, he could kill me and no one would know, no one would come for me.
- I stopped in front of the table and looked down at the gun, my heart pounding, I do not want to die now, even if I didn't care about anything, I'd care if I lived because I love my life.
- The pistol was looking back at me. This man picked it up and I held my breath. He pushed the table out of his way like it weighed nothing, and then there wasn't anything dividing me from him.
- "Closer," He commanded.
- A step.
- A step that will close the gap between us. It was a dare, disobey me and die.
- I took that step. I'm not one to fidget under anybody so I was not surprised that I was not shaking but I knew fear had me. The fear of death.
- "Look at me," He said. Look at him? while there's a gun in his hand?.
- "I don't repeat myself," He said again.
- I licked my lips and looked up, and then I saw his face. His icy eyes stared me down like I was his prey.
- He was beautiful. Those eyes were beautiful but cold. How many people had he killed?. I haven't seen him kill but I'd know he was a murderer, a sexy killer. He looked like a mafia sexy lord. Oh my god!. Why haven't I thought of this? Is this what it is?. A mafia lord?.
- My heart pounded, could it be I had landed in the group of cold-hearted killers. Is this where my dad put me?.
- "You were sold by your father, I don't even think you're worth my money,"
- I blinked. Was this an insult?.
- "I'm gonna be managing you until I think of what to do with you, if I don't see you worthy, I will kill your father and your younger sister, and then you!." I swallowed up, he said he'd kill my family and me.
- My father, yes. Do what you want but Junie, I can't stand anything happening to her.
- "Why don't you kill my father and let us be?." I asked and regretted it later.
- His eyebrows creased, I had just asked a question. Maybe they don't question him.
- "I am your master. You obey me and do all that I command you to do. I won't tell you what I would do if you disobeyed me."
- But the question is, how much does my father owe?.
- "Wallace…"He called, the door opened and the bald man walked in, then closed the door behind.
- "Take her away!."
- "Do you want me to put her with the other whores?." He asked and I blinked. The girls were used as prostitutes.
- He looked at me and I looked down, "Keep her there for now!."
- I was dragged away.
- Once the door was shut behind us, Wallace said, "You are alive, I knew you'd be or the master would have to waste his money."
- That made me want to know how much my father owed him.
- "How much does he owe?." I asked.
- Wallace stopped and looked at me,"If the master didn't tell you, I'm not the one to answer that!."
- I sighed.
- Fucking dick face. They all make me sick. I'd find a way to get the hell out of here.
- He threw me in and closed the door.
- "I hope you start handling me with care, Wallace," I shouted behind and turned.
- The girls were looking at me.
- "What?." I yelled and they turned to what they were doing. I went to my bed and lay down. Oh, this place looks extremely boring and bad to me. I knew by this time yesterday, I could go out for a walk and help myself with Mrs. Agne's apples. She'd come out of her window raining curses at me.
- Well, I'd help myself to sleep over here and think of running later in the day. I shut my eyes and that was when my stomach grumbled reminding me I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday.
- I quickly went out of bed, frowning. The girls were minding their business.
- "I know she'd be hungry, Lisa, why don't you tell her now?."
- "She's rude and disrespectful."
- I went out of my corner to stand with the girls.
- "Is there something you're not telling me?." I asked.
- All of them looked away.
- "Okay, I'd go out there and ask Wallace himself." I turned around to leave.
- "Your food.." One of them said and I stopped, then turned.
- "It's over here." She mumbled, looking away. I followed her eyes to the top of a little cupboard and found my food perfectly covered in a tray. I carried it and went to sit on my bed.
- "You know you will get yourself in trouble with that attitude," She said and I ignored her.
- "I like her attitude. Didn't you see how she made the madam look?." The other girl asked and giggled.
- It won't be long until I'm out of here.
