• He was walking the lonely road back to his den, lost in thought, replaying the conversation with his father in his head. He couldn't believe how close-minded his father was being about Amelia. The fact that she was from a different pack seemed to be the only thing that mattered to him. Ethan knew he had to fight for her, but he didn't know how.
• As he walked, he saw his father approaching from a distance. His heart sank, and he knew he was in for another confrontation. His father's eyes were piercing as he approached him, and Ethan braced himself for what was to come.
• His father demanded that he follow him to his den for an immediate discussion. Reluctantly, he complied and accompanied his father to the king's den.
