Chapter 7 Could Su Qi Be A Medical Prodigy
- When both their eyes met, her body trembled a little. To her surprise, she was inexplicably flustered as she quickly averted her gaze. What was that? Why did I feel nervous looking into the deadbeat’s eyes?
- She quickly recollected her thoughts and replied sarcastically, “Ha! Sure, I believe in you,” she continued in disdain, “How can you be a million times better than Xue Hanhai? If you were half as good, I’d consider it a miracle.”
- Just as Su Qi wanted to say more, Liu Nian’s phone rang. After finishing the call, he told Su Qi, “I have matters to attend to and won’t be sending you home. Why don’t you take a cab by yourself?”
- She was aloof in her words as if she was speaking to her nemesis.
- Su Qi asked, “Who was that on the phone?”
- Liu Nian frowned and said impatiently, “It’s none of your business. Hurry up and get off the car. I have to leave now”
- “It’s difficult to hail a cab in here. Why don’t you drop me at the bus stop up ahead?”
- “No,” without giving it any thought, Liu Nian turned down his request, “I’m in a hurry. Don’t you have legs to walk on your own?” she chased Su Qi off the car impatiently.
- Su Qi let out a sigh as he got off the car and Liu Nian drove off instantly without looking back. He had no choice but to slowly walk to the bus stop, which was half a mile away. This was not the first time he got ill-treated by his wife so he had already been used to it.
- Fortunately, his body condition was fitter these days so walking half a mile was practically nothing to him.
- As he was walking towards the bus station, he heard a faint cry for help coming from ahead. He caught sight of a group of over 10 people encircling an old lady and a lady crying next to him helplessly.
- Su Qi picked up his pace and as he approached the scene, he saw the old lady who was lying on the ground was foaming at the mouth, seeming severely ill.
- “Can someone help? My mother fainted. Wuwu…” with her face covered in tears, the lady next to her sought help from the crowd.
- But the crowd was unmoved and some even retreated a few steps out of fear that it was a scam.
- At this moment, a guy suggested, “We aren’t doctors, so there’s nothing we can do to help. Why don’t you call for an ambulance instead and send her to the hospital?”
- The lady replied in despair, “I have already called, but it will take some time for the ambulance to get here as this is the suburbs...”
- “What illness is the old lady suffering from?” asked someone.
- The lady sobbed and said, “I-I have no idea… She had been doing well until a month ago when she started to convulse out of the blue. Whenever that happens, she will pass out and foam at the mouth. The doctors could not identify the illness and advised that if she doesn’t get any better, she might have only a few days to live.”
- It was at this time that the ambulance finally arrived. The paramedics swiftly opened the stretcher and prepared to carry the elderly lady up.
- “She can’t be moved!” A voice rang in the crowd before a tall figure squeezed in and halted the paramedics. This person was none other than Su Qi.
- “What are you trying to do?!” one of the paramedics frowned and lashed out angrily.
- The crowd gazed at Su Qi intently and wondered who was this man and what was he trying to do.
- “The old lady was having a seizure and while she’s unconscious now, we cannot simply shift her, otherwise, she might die on the spot,” explained Su Qi sternly.
- At the sight of Su Qi looking so serious, they got apprehensive about moving her and asked, “Are you a doctor?”
- Su Qi shook his head and said, “No, I’m not.”
- “Damn! Why are you causing trouble if you aren’t a doctor? Hurry up and get out of the way. Are you prepared to be held responsible if the patient’s treatment gets delayed?!” the paramedic furiously reprimanded as he attempted to push Su Qi aside.
- The lady glared at Su Qi viciously as she was about to attack him if he did not get out of the way.
- Without a shred of fear, Su Qi said patiently, “Although I’m not a doctor, but I do know how to treat your mom.”
- “What?! You do?” immediately, the lady held Su Qi’s hand in delight.
- Smiling gently, Su Qi nodded his head and said, “I have a 70% confidence of success. The patient is suffering from a rare case of epilepsy. When she has seizures, she can’t be moved, or else it will aggravate her condition. Worst case scenario would be her dying on the spot.”
- Upon hearing him, the lady frowned, “Epilepsy? Are you sure? We had gone to several hospitals for a full body checkup before this but the report all came back to my mother suffering from a strange disease. The doctor said it might be due to lack of calcium. Yet, after taking a lot of calcium, her condition continues to relapse.”
- “As I said, your mother’s case of epilepsy is rare in which most doctors are unaware of,” Su Qi told her.
- The paramedics laughed out loud after hearing from his nonsense as they assumed Su Qi to be a phoney, “Do you still want to send the patient to the hospital? If you don’t, then we’re going off. We still have other places to get to.”
- The lady fell into a dilemma. In the midst of her hesitation, Su Qi squatted down in front of the older lady and began his treatment procedures.
- He stuck out both his index and middle finger as he struck the acupoints on the old lady’s head, chest, and back. The strikes grew in intensity and within 10 seconds, the unconscious old lady sat u all of a sudden, giving the people around them a shock.
- “Mom!” her daughter cried in excitement while she hugged her, “Mom, I’m so glad you woke up!”
- The crowd was astonished at the sight. Even the paramedics stood there and rubbed their eyes in disbelief, Perhaps the fellow was somehow medically trained?
- “Thank you! Thank you so much!” she prepared to kneel down as she spoke. It was evident that the lady was a filial daughter.
- Su Qi hurriedly held her and said, “Ma’am, I’m undeserving of it! I’m only doing what I can to help.”
- While the lady was thanking him repeatedly, Su Qi pulled a serious face as he said, “Ma’am, granny is not completely cured yet. All I did earlier was to slow down the illness’ progression.”
- “Huh? Then how can it be cured?! Doctor, if you can cure my mom, I’m willing to do anything!” upon saying so, the lady prepared to kneel before him again.
- Su Qi supported her once more and said, “Ma’am, calm down. In reality, granny’s condition isn’t too serious. If we apply the correct treatment, there’s a chance to cure it completely. The method is simple, and you just need to strike her at the points as I did earlier. Combined with my prescription, she’ll make a full recovery in a year or two.
- Following that, Su Qi demonstrated the method to the lady once more before writing a prescription and for her to purchase the Chinese medicine.
- “Thank you! Thank you so much! You are a lifesaver!” the lady was in deep gratitude.
- Believing he was a medical prodigy, the crowd came forward to seek for his medical advice one after another, hoping they would be cured of their ailments.
- In the meantime, a man was witnessing the incident from the backseat of his Bentley parked by the roadside. A magnetic voice was heard saying, “This guy seems like a real deal. Uncle Liu, get him to come over.”
- Uncle Liu asked courteously, “Young Master, do you think he can cure Old Master of his illness?”
- “There is no harm trying, isn’t it?”
- “It’s true but Old Master’s disease is a tricky one. Even the finest doctors in Huaxia could not cure him, I doubt this young man could do miracles.”
- “I understand where are you coming from. We had tried whatever we could and now, in times of desperation, I don’t see why we can’t give this young man a try.”
- “Yes, you are right, Young Master. Who knows? Perhaps this young man is the one who will cure Old Master,” Despite saying so, there were skepticism on Uncle Liu’s mind.
