Chapter 6 You Can't Make Me Stop

  • "Stop being so mean to me," I wanted to roll my eyes at Rod's whim. I just ignored him and I don't like what's happening between us anymore.
  • Every time we meet, he just keeps kissing me without my permission. And I'm afraid that his mom will find out about us. She let me live in their house for free and she supported me financially.
  • I just came home from school, he was waiting for me.
  • I closed my eyes when I saw his maid watching us.
  • Before Rod could enter my room, I immediately closed the door. He slammed the door from the outside. Maybe he's kicking it.
  • I sat on the bed and let out a deep breath. Rod was annoying but I was even more annoying.
  • I don't him to be near at me, but every time our lips meet, my eyes will automatically close, my hand will automatically move to wrap around his neck, and I automatically respond to his kisses.
  • I laid myself down on the soft bed and tried to calm myself down. Even when I'm at school, my mind still wanders to Rod.
  • How annoying!
  • During dinner, I almost lock myself in the room if attorney didn't come to tell me I had to go downstairs to eat.
  • I changed my clothes right away and fixed my hair. Back then, I didn't care about my appearance, but since I've been living with Rod, I always want to be presentable every damn fvcking time.
  • He made me very conscious at myself.
  • In my annoyance, I messed up my hair that I had just tied.
  • What if I look like a monkey? What's the fuss? It's my life.
  • I left the room but when I was about to step the stairs, I ran back inside my room.
  • I took the comb and tied my hair.
  • I bit my bottom lip. I can't go out looking ugly.
  • I think I'm going crazy. I went to the dining area and sit next to attorney Manilou.
  • "How was the school?" I noticed how Rod stared at me when I passed by him.
  • "It's fine, attorney.. We have a defense next week."
  • "Oh. Really? How's your research paper then?"
  • "It was fine. There's a minor revision but so far, we already fix that one,"
  • She nodded, "that's good then,"
  • When I glanced at Rod, I caught him playing with his lips while staring at me. Then, I shyly lowered my eyes to my plate.
  • Why is he staring at me?
  • "March, what do you think? Will you let me adopt you?"
  • I stopped for a moment and looked at attorney who was looking at me seriously. What? She wanted to adopt me?
  • I looked at Rod and I saw his death glare at me.
  • I looked away. I don't want to meet his eyes.
  • I'm afraid,
  • "Attorney, --it's too much," I said.
  • "Oh! Don't be.. Just think about it."
  • After we eat, I helped to put the plates in the sink. The maids will go home today because it's Friday. Tomorrow is their restday.
  • At around eight o'clock in the evening, I still couldn't sleep. I was outside the house waiting for Rod to come home.
  • The maids are gone as well as attorney who rushed to her office.
  • I'm so sleepy so before I could fall asleep, I stretched my hand and went out the house.
  • I closed the gate and saw Rod outside the house smoking a cigarette. My eyes widened while looking at him.
  • He was leaning on his car while staring back at me.
  • "Y-You're just there," I thought he left.
  • "Rod-
  • I stopped when I saw his hand bleeding. I ran towards him and grabbed his hand.
  • "What happened Rod?"
  • "Tss.." He angrily withdrew his hand from my grip.
  • Because of panic, I went inside the house again to find first aide-kit for his wound.
  • I am hella nervous upon seeing his hand bleeding. Where did he get this?
  • I hold his hand to wipe the blood.
  • I frowned when he exhaled the cigarette smoke.
  • I don't know how to treat his wound.
  • Shall I pour the alcohol? Or not?
  • I was contemplating after I decided to get my handkerchief from my pocket and wiped his hand.
  • He puffed out a cigarette smoke again so I couldn't stop my anger anymore. I glared at him.
  • "Did you know the effects are worse on secondhand smokers?"
  • I saw his eyebrow raise and let go of the cigarette then stepped on it. He didn't say anything but I was really annoyed with him.
  • In my annoyance, I just wrapped his fist with a handkerchief.
  • "That's not the right way to aide a wounded hand,"
  • "It's just the same as wrapping a lumpiang shanghai," I can still smell the cigarette. He chuckled when I said that. What's funny?
  • "Why is Lumpiang Shanghai included here? Does my hand look appetizing to you?"
  • I glared at him. I don't know where I get the guts to do this to him.
  • "Not even a bit," I answered gruffly.
  • I heard his chuckles. And that's when I realized that he's drunk.
  • "You smell like alcohol. Where have you been?" at the bar? Did he get his wound there too?
  • He raised an eyebrow at me. "Just...somewhere.. down the road."
  • I sighed and pulled him inside the house.
  • "Wait.. I'll just put the car in," he whispered.
  • I didn't answer when he went back to where we were standing. I just opened the gate for him to enter and he went straight to their garage.
  • I closed the gate and watched as Rod hurried out of his car and went to my place.
  • Before I could speak, he cupped my cheeks in his palms and kissed me hard on the lips.
  • My eyes widened at what he did.
  • "Am I not looking appetizing to you but you are to me," he said after he left my lips wide open.
  • "Rod!" I exclaimed. Shock is visible to my face.
  • "Why are kissing me?"
  • "Because I want to," he said confidently, as if it was rational to say that.
  • "Stop it Rod.. We shouldn't do this," I said.
  • He smirked.
  • "You can't make me stop," he said and kissed me again.
