• I lay beside Kendra, watching her sleep. I wonder if she is part wolf. Maybe we are fated to be mates somehow. How strange and wonderful that would be if she came from a wolf pack somehow? I hope Andrea has some news for her soon. I want her to marry me soon. I do not want to wait. I have to tell mother and Chuck first thing. I think mom and Chuck will both be happy for us.
• All the things that have collided in the last few days to bring us together as a family have to be some sort of fate. She landed here needing help when she could have stopped anywhere along her route. She is everything I need in my life; I hope I can be that for her.
