Chapter 14 Whispers Of The Wind
- The surrounding forest seemed to grow thicker as Lyra, Kylan, Ryan, and Kellan made their way deeper into Eldergrove. The weight of their next task pressed heavily on all of them: they needed the favor of the wind guardians, ancient beings as elusive as the wind itself. The deeper they ventured, the more the trees closed in, casting long shadows that danced in the pale moonlight.
- “The winds are fickle,” Kellan muttered as they walked. His amber eyes flicked upward toward the treetops, where the branches swayed in a breeze that they couldn’t feel. “They don’t like to be tied down, and they certainly don’t care much for the affairs of mortals.”
- “Great,” Ryan grumbled, kicking at a rock on the path. “Just what we need—more magical beings that don’t give a damn about us.”
