Chapter 39 The Man Who Took Care Of Her

“Yeah but let me check with the nurse first.” Emilia said with a sigh, making Athena slightly nod her head. Emilia then walked away before pushing the door of Henry's cabin and entering. A minute didn’t even pass when she came back before slightly smiling at Athena who was waiting impatiently for her.
“You can go inside, Athena. He’s awake.” Emilia informed her, causing her to sigh in relief. She quickly nodded at Emilia who patted her back as she passed by her. Athena slowly made her way to the door before pushing it slightly. As the door opened, she made her way inside while her anxious eyes directly landed on Henry who was lying on the hospital bed with both a heart monitor and ventilator attached to his body. The attendant nurse gave her a brief smile before walking away. Athena's heart sank while her eyes filled with tears. She couldn’t bear to see the weak and helpless sight of Henry. She quickly took a deep breath to control her overwhelming emotion before slowly walking towards the bed. Henry was half lying on the bed while his eyes half closed. He had yet to notice her presence. As Athena stared at his resting form, she couldn’t help but notice how aged he looked within the few days. She shouldn’t have left his side.
“Grandpa.” Athena slowly called his name before reaching out her hand to touch his head. Her voice made Henry immediately open his eyes.
