Chapter 7 Sister-in-law

• Zach witnessed everything with his eyes and mouth wide open. It happened so fast that he didn't have time to react until his brother's car zoomed off and then he broke out of his trance.
• "What just happened?" he uttered perplexedly and quickly entered his own car, following the direction that his brother's car took.
• When he reached the City's hospital which was the biggest hospital in Country Z, he saw his brother rushing inside the tall hospital building with the unconscious girl in his hands, anxiety clearly evident on his face as if he was about to lose something valuable. He did not even allow the nurses to put her on a stretcher.
• Zach was baffled. Since they were young, his brother had always been a cold person and didn't show any emotion no matter how intense the situation was.
• There was even a time that he was sick and fell off the stairs injuring himself in the process and had to be rushed to the hospital by their stepmother who was very worried and cried after seeing the miserable state of his brother.
• However, his brother did not show any sign of pain even though he was feeling it.
• Zach had always been the crybaby among the two of them and even his brother had always protected him as a parent would to his child despite being older than him by only three years. That was why he always acted spoiled in front of him.
• Looking at this vulnerable side of his brother, Zach was worried. He wondered who she was because as far as he knew, his brother never came in contact with girls outside.
• He watched as they disappeared from his view and he sprinted after them.

• _ Inside The VIP Ward_
• Clara slowly opened her eyes and looked around in confusion.
• She was in an unfamiliar environment and the walls were white. 'Am I in heaven?' she thought worriedly and panic struck her. 'No.no.no, I'm not ready to die. I'm not ready.'
• Carl was sitting on the couch in the spacious VIP ward which looked more like a hotel suite. While Zach was sitting on a chair at the far corner seemingly not yet recovered from his earlier astonishment and was totally ignored by his brother who was staring intently at the girl lying peacefully on the bed.
• Even though she was pale, she looked beautiful, exuding a calming charm like a goddess who had fallen to the realm of mortals, taking a hundred-year nap. The oversized white hospital gown which hid her curves and made her slender figure look small only added more to her ethereal beauty.
• Carl was staring at her, his attention never left her for once. Then he saw her lashes suddenly flutter and she slowly opened her beautiful round eyes, adjusting them to the light.
• He watched her as she looked around flabbergasted, then she suddenly put on a panicked expression.
• He abruptly stood up, which startled Zach that was sitting at the corner, and strode to her side.
• Zach hurried behind him and gawked at the confused girl.
• " Wow. She's so beautiful," he said exaggeratedly.
• Clara heard a voice beside her bed and noticed the two people standing there. She opened her eyes wide and remembered the things that happened.
• She was feeling an immeasurable pain in her stomach then she fainted. But before that, she had seen him.
• Looking at the handsome men facing her, she knew that she wasn't dead yet and realized she was inside a hospital room after noticing the hospital gown she was wearing.
• However, she only saw one man before losing consciousness. Although they looked alike she immediately recognized him because he looked a little bit older and was slightly taller than the guy in yellow pajamas.
• 'Is this a coincidence or fate?' she thought happily.
• When Carl saw the girl staring at him, from a dumbfounded expression to a happy one he found it cute and chuckled slightly.
• Zach was once again shocked after hearing his brother chuckle. He watched as he sat down at the bedside, stroking the girl's hair and smiling slightly.
• 'Oh, I don't know how many surprises I would get today. My poor heart,' he grimaced and held the side of his chest dramatically.
• He regretted following his brother and felt like he would soon get a heart attack if he continued witnessing this side of his brother.
• However, his curiosity level was more than his pride and he stayed even though he was completely ignored.
• When Clara saw him sitting beside her, she was shocked for a while, however, she instantly relaxed when he started stroking her hair with a smile on his face as if reassuring her.
• She usually felt uncomfortable with strangers but she found his touch relaxing as if she had known him for a very long time. Seeing him looking at her face intently she became shy and looked away but then remembered that she was in her period and only used tissues which would have been damped by now and might have stained her dress.
• She peeked down at her dress worriedly, avoiding his gaze and looking for traces of blood in embarrassment.
• Carl watched as she looked away and noticed her blushing when her expression suddenly changed and she then peaked down at her dress worriedly while flushing with embarrassment.
• He instantly understood and cleared his throat awkwardly then uttered two words. "The nurse."
• Clara immediately understood what he meant. And she opened her mouth to say something but no words came out, her throat was dry.
• When Carl saw that, he finally looked at his brother who was staring at the girl stupidly, and his expression darkened. "Water," he said grumpily.
• "Yes, yes..." Zach nodded his head absentmindedly, still staring at the beautiful angel on the bed, and continued, "She's as pure as water." still nodding his head as if convincing himself.
• Carl's expression darkened further and he glared at his stupid brother. "Get her water," he repeated in an authoritative tone.
• Zach broke out of his reverie and quickly went to the water dispenser before fetching the water inside a cup and handed it to his brother.
• Carl took the water from his brother's hand while giving him a 'you are a fool' look before he helped her sit down and gave her the water.
• Clara saw the interaction between the two brothers and found it funny, she slowly drank the water which soothed her dry throat, and looked up at Carl before saying, "Thank you." with a genuine smile, revealing her cute dimples.
• She knew he was the one that had brought her to the hospital and was very grateful. Besides her family and her best friend, no one had ever taken care of her like this.
• Carl's heart was instantly struck by an unexplainable warmth when he saw her contagious smile and the two cute dimples on both sides of her cheeks increased her cuteness to an ultimate level.
• "Wow. Sister-in-law, please don't smile like that, I can't take it," Zach said exaggeratedly, putting both hands on his chest dramatically. He wondered how his brother knew this angel.
• Clara was confused. 'What is wrong with my smile?' she asked herself worriedly but when she saw his dramatic expression, she instantly knew he was complimenting her beauty indirectly.
• She knew she that was very beautiful and got a lot of comments from plenty of people but she wondered why she was now self-conscious when she looked at the handsome man sitting in front of her.
