• "Cora?! Nico?!" My mom's voice bellowed up the stairs as I glanced at myself in the mirror. Yep, I look totally normal. Except, I didn't feel normal. • Mom smiled warmly at Nico, a smile I never got before she nodded at him. "That sounds okay to me. But straight home after the movie." Even though she wasn't looking at me, I knew that statement was directed right at me.
• Nico spun and grabbed my hand as he pulled me from the kitchen. My angry demeanor was back knowing I was going to be stuck sitting in a movie theater with none other than Bethany and the girls who were all going to ogle over Nico instead of watching the movie.

• "I don't want to go to the movies with you and your new girlfriend Bethany," I said the last part with a sneer.
