Chapter 10
- Lin Yayu stopped crying. The hatred in her heart for Lan Muwei started multiplying furiously, growing from a tiny sprout to a gigantic tree.
- “Wanwan, you said before that I’m your best friend, and that you’ll forgive me no matter what I did. Why did you become this way?” Lin Yayu’s voice sounded aggrieved as she spoke slowly in between her sobs.
- Lan Muwei was completely unmoved by this. The real Su Wan had been harmed so much by this woman in front of her that she even died.
- A murderer was dreaming of forgiveness?
- “Lin Yayu, back then I was young and naive, not knowing any better.” Lan Muwei pursed her red lips as she chuckled coldly. “Every time there was an incident, there would always be a reason. Do you want me to continue saying any more!?”
- Lin Yayu clenched her fist tightly and allowed her nails to sink into her own flesh. She didn’t feel any pain from this. Lin Yayu took a deep breath, glanced passionately over at Feng Shihan, and then said, “Wanwan, I’ll wait for you until the day that you forgive me.”
- Lan Muwei chuckled coldly in her heart. The only reason she wasn’t completely breaking off the “friendship” was because the icy and silent Feng Shihan was still present.
- “Alright, but you might need to borrow another 500 years from the heavens. I might forgive you by then.” Lan Muwei’s lips arced upward as she stopped talking about previous matters.
- She felt that it would be more interesting for the cat to slowly toy with the mouse.
- Lin Yayu’s expression relaxed as she no longer felt so much pressure. Feng Shihan noticed her apparent relief.
- Lin Yayu didn’t consider Su Wan to be that important. In comparison, what was important was that Lin Yayu could stay by Feng Shihan’s side. Only this way would she be able to slowly obtain what she wanted. One day, Feng Shihan would belong to her!
- “President Feng, it’s almost time for the Feng Corporation’s recruitment fair. I will properly complete this project. Please give me a chance.” Lin Yayu spoke with a sweet voice and adamant expression as she made this promise.
- Lan Muwei pursed her lips. She really didn’t want such a white lotus to attend the recruitment fair. She had a sudden flash of inspiration and said, “Dear husband, keeping around an employee who constantly makes mistakes is like leaving a ticking time bomb around.
- Lin Yayu’s eyes flashed with furious jealousy when she heard the words “Dear husband” from Su Wan’s mouth. If it hadn’t been for Su Wan, Lin Yayu felt that she herself should have become Feng Shihan’s wife.
- “President Feng, I promise that there won’t be a next time.”
- Lan Muwei brushed her forehead bangs behind her ears as she remarked, “Lin Yayu often makes promises to me, but she’s never lived up to her promises even once.”
- At any rate, she absolutely didn’t want Lin Yayu to participate in the recruitment fair.
- “You!” Lin Yayu involuntarily raised her voice several octaves. Her first reaction was to point at Lan Muwei, but she didn’t dare to counter her words, as she had indeed broken far too many promises before.
- Lin Yayu didn’t want to leave any negative impressions of herself in Feng Shihan’s mind.
- Feng Shihan’s inquisitive eyes kept a tight watch on Lan Muwei. He already knew that Lin Yayu was behind all of the previous small incidents, but the two women had truly been good friends before. Yet, things had now suddenly changed.
- Lan Muwei smiled beautifully when she sensed Feng Shihan’s icy gaze upon her. She walked up to him despite his aura of unapproachability, and reached out to touch his alluring skin. The next instant, he grabbed on to her wrist.
- Lan Muwei furrowed her eyebrows and said in a cute voice, “Dear husband, you’re using too much strength. You’re hurting me.”
- ‘Damn it!’
- Lan Muwei’s wrist really, really hurt. Feng Shihan didn’t know how to treat a lady at all.
- Feng Shihan’s heart clenched as his expression changed slightly. The next instant, he swiftly recovered and naturally lessened his strength. “Don’t do that again unless you don’t want your hand anymore.”
- Lan Muwei bit her lower lip. She inhaled a cold breath as she suppressed the anger in her heart. She felt that this bastard truly was capable of doing such a thing. Lan Muwei apologetically smiled while stating, “Dear husband, I know you must feel awkward in front of an outsider. I’m willing to even break my hand for your sake. However, Grandma Feng will surely feel bad for me if she sees such a thing.”
- Feng Shihan shook off Lan Muwei’s hand and stopped looking at her as he spoke. “Lin Yayu, the Feng Corporation doesn’t need employees who aren’t cautious enough.”
- His tone was adamant and decisive, with zero hesitation.
- Lin Yayu gritted her teeth unwillingly. She didn’t ask any more, because she knew Feng Shihan’s personality already after working under him for quite a while.
- No matter how much she requested, she would be unable to change Feng Shihan’s mind on any decision he had already made.
- This was all Su Wan’s fault! If it hadn’t been for her, Lin Yayu felt that Feng Shihan might have considered allowing her to stay in the Feng Corporation.
- “President Feng, I’ll go clean up my things tomorrow morning,” Lin Yayu stated slowly after several seconds of silence.
- Lan Muwei then went up to her bedroom. Her wrist was still really red. Actually, Feng Shihan hadn’t squeezed her that hard for very long. It was just that Su Wan had delicate skin that reddened easily.
- She was exhausted and really needed to rest.
- She soon fell into a deep sleep after closing her eyes. When she opened her eyes again, the sun was already shining on her face through the tree leaves.
- Lan Muwei swiftly changed clothes and took out another bank card from underneath her blanket. She felt pained for several seconds as she recalled the tremendous price she had paid in order to be able to join the recruitment fair.
- The moment that she left the mansion, she instantly sensed someone following her as she was always sensitive and vigilant. There was a cold gaze on her back that sent chills down her spine.
- Lan Muwei intentionally walked down a small alleyway and calmly turned around to see two hoodlums who had depraved and perverted smiles. She spoke up in a light tone: “Who told the two of you to do this? Be honest and I’ll consider letting you go.”
- A hoodlum who was pudgy and had large ears snorted as he pulled out a fruit knife from his pocket. “Hey beauty, I’ll be coming for you now. Behave.”
- Lan Muwei hmphed coldly as she kicked away the fruit knife and swiftly grabbed the hoodlum’s collar. With a light pull, she forced the pudgy hoodlum down to the ground.
- She clapped her hands and forcefully stomped on the hoodlum’s stomach. She then indicated to the other hoodlum, whose legs were trembling severely, that he should come over. “Hurry up. I’m in a rush right now.”
- The other hoodlum kept begging for mercy.
- “Say it. Just who sent you here?” Even though her voice clearly sounded so soft, it made both hoodlums feel chilly.
- The pudgy hoodlum slowly said, “A rather beautiful woman gave us several thousand, telling us to take a few indecent photos of you and send her the pictures. We really don’t know what her name is.”
- Lan Muwei brought out her cell phone, opened up a picture of Lin Yayu, and showed it to the pudgy hoodlum.
- “Yeah, yeah, yeah, that’s her! Please let us go! We truly didn’t know who we were dealing with.” The pudgy hoodlum did his best to beg for mercy.
- Lan Muwei had a grim expression. She hadn’t expected Lin Yayu to be so vicious. At the very least, Su Wan had truly treated her as a true friend before. Yet, Lin Yayu didn’t care about this friendship one bit and hired hoodlums to take humiliating pictures of her.
- Lan Muwei rubbed her chin and thought about things until she had a sudden flash of inspiration. She snapped her fingers and showed a reserved smile. “It’s alright to let you guys go, but I want you two do do something for me.”
- “What is it?”
- “Do the same to the person who hired you that she requested of you.” Lan Muwei spoke in a dark tone.
- The pudgy hoodlum hurriedly nodded. He originally wanted to get payback against Lin Yayu anyways. Lin Yayu had told them that their target was really weak, yet the target turned out to be so strong!
- Lan Muwei gave the hoodlums her phone number and let them go. She was now beginning to sweat on her forehead and pant slightly.
- It seemed that she needed to find some time to train herself well. Her new body was in really poor physical condition. Lan Muwei had been unable to use even half of her true strength in Su Wan’s body.
