• Grigori was waiting for me in my father's study when I was done with the intruders. I had thoroughly enjoyed breaking and mangling them so much that I almost didn't remember I needed to wring details out of them. To be honest, I didn't care. I just wanted to punish them for posing a threat to my family and Cara.
• The investigator’s eyes grew wide when I walked in and I wondered just how much of a mess I looked. I hadn't bothered with cleaning up and probably had blood on my face. My hands were still stained with blood.
