Chapter 44 A Too-late Apology
- The next morning, after finishing breakfast, Ladapha stayed to keep the little one company as Ayu insisted on drawing pictures with her, even pulling out his most endearing whines. Meanwhile, Yin Yue returned to his study, saying he had some work to finish. Close to noon, Ladapha left Ayu to color in the living room by himself and went to the kitchen to help Aunt Phorngrampai set the table for lunch.
- “What’s for dinner tonight, Aunt Phorngrampai?” Ladapha asked out of habit.
- “I’ve already prepared everything since I won’t be around in the evening. My daughter-in-law is unwell, and there’s no one to look after my grandchildren,” the older woman replied.
