Chapter 6 The Date
- We had arrived at the grand ballroom. His arm circled my waist possessively. I was very nervous, it was very nerve-wracking.
- Need to drink.
- "You're doing just fine Lori. Stop worrying." He smiled at me and started kissing my shoulder and rubbing my back. I relaxed instantly.
- Wow...this is new.
- "Now, let's dance and make my presence known. Then we can leave, and have a nice quiet dinner, and let me enjoy your companion to myself." There was a promise for pleasure in his words. Dark, tempting, threatening, making me clenched my thigh.
- He was ushering me to the dance floor. He took my hand, and moved it higher to his shoulder, while he pulled me in closer, and put his palm to my lower back, almost to my ass. If this wasn't a formal event, I would think he would already put his hands on my ass. We dance for a couple more songs, then retreated to the bar.
- We drink and talk about everything from hobbies to vacations, then he slowly dragged me to mingle and join in conversations, and quickly introduced me to his acquaintances. It was hard to imagine that he was twenty years older than me. We were so compatible, he made it easy for me to be accepted by his surroundings.
- "You darling, you have an old soul, for a woman your age. And it's a compliment, don't take it the wrong way. Come let's have dinner, I think I've spent enough time for an appearance here." He kissed my cheek and take my hand, and wrapped it in his arm. We really looked, like a couple in love.
- God! I'm so going to hell for this.
- I took my Prada clutch and put on my coat as we walk back to his car. I smiled remembering the dollar sign. Now I could even see it on my coat.
- "What's so funny? Care to share your thoughts?" He asked as we drive to our next destination. His hand rubbed my thigh casually.
- "Nothing. It's just that I've been seeing dollar signs all week now. Just saw it on my coat just now, and earlier on my clutch. I'm sure Adriana already filled you in. I was selling everything on eBay for the last couple of weeks now. I guess my eyes were just getting accustomed to seeing price tags online by now. I even saw it on my liquor bottles. It's like I can sell everything now." I grinned at him and continue.
- "Well, except for my apartment and my car. I really need to downsize and deal with the reality you know." I shrugged at him and smiled, not feeling embarrassed at all. If Adriana let him see me while I was doing my photoshoots, she must also already disclosed my situation to him.
- "Actually no, Adriana hadn't told me anything about that. I rather pressed on time when I met her. She just said that you're new and very punctual, and have OCD tendencies. That's why she thought that you would be perfect for me. Because I spend most of my time working, and I'm very time constricted person." He took my hand and kissed it.
- "But you don't have to worry about that now. I got you." I instinctively took back my hand from him.
- "No. I'm good. I still need to downsize. I still don't know how this sugar thing works. I need a backup plan. Look, it's just a lifestyle. Been there done that. I can manage a small apartment, it doesn't have to be a penthouse."
- We continued our conversation, at the restaurant. The senior older waiter ushered us to my favorite table, the best table in the house. I always like this restaurant. It's so homey, cozy yet stylish.
- "Mr. Logan, Ms. Matthews welcome. What will you be having this evening?"
- "Lori?" He arched an eyebrow, looking surprised that the waiter knew my last name. But he held it in and didn't ask more.
- "Mmm...Why don't you pick for me Sam, surprise me? But I'll be having white wine please." I looked at him smiling.
- "Of course Ms. Matthews. And for you Mr. Logan?"
- "Just give us tonight specials then, and open your very best whites for us. That will be all."
- "Thank you for taking me here. It's been a while. I always like Gianni's."
- Our wine arrived minutes later as Sam poured a glass for James to taste, then finally poured mine after James nod his agreement for the wine selection to Sam.
- "You're full of surprises aren't you Lori?" He smiled and take my hand, and keep it in his.
- "Really? I'm an open book, James. I feel like since I know what you are to me, I know what to expect from you. It's easier for me to open up. I wish I've known what to expect from my ex. I spent two years of my life for him, for nothing. If I had known that my parent's divorce would make him leave me, I wouldn't have wasted my time with him."
- We started eating our dinner after Sam brings us the specials. The food here was always delicious. I was savoring the taste while having a good companion to go with it.
- "But seriously Lori, since you know I'm rich it means that you can maintain your lifestyle. I'll support you. That's me being your sugar daddy, in return of your companion." I laughed hearing his words.
- "Sorry it's one thing hearing Adriana said Sugar Daddy, but hearing you stating so, it's like a kink you know. Mm...do you have a kink that I should know about?" My face paled, making him laughed hard at me. There were some glances, that were thrown at us. He said that he haven't laughed this loud in years.
- "No I don't, but maybe you do?" He winked at me teasing me. I slapped his arm playfully, then he took that same hand, and kissed my knuckles then my temple.
- "It's settled then. I will support you since I would like to spend more time at yours, and I'm not sure I will adjust well to small apartments." I rolled my eyes at him.
- "You paid for the maid service then, I fainted and was hospitalized the last time I tried to clean that damn place myself. It's harder with what I have, I just couldn't stop cleaning, until I finished the whole place." I pouted and played with my wine glass.
- "I'll take care of the maid Lori. So, do you go to a specialist for your OCD?" He asked, starting to get concerned that I even get hospitalized for it.
- "I used to go to a shrink. She's very good and very expensive. So I self medicate with my liquor now. But the hospital thing, was me going too ambitious I guess. I should've drink and clean. I think it would've worked better."
- He laughed hard again. I started to get worried, and calm him down.
- "Hey, you okay?"
- "Sorry Baby, you're just so funny without even realizing it. I haven't laughed this hard and had this much fun in years."
- I finally relaxed and drink some more wine.
- "Come then, it's time to get back," he told me.
