Chapter 4 Defending Her

  • ~ROSINA~
  • I was shocked when that man from the hotel came to the scene to rescue me. I don't know what happened, but my body seems tense, and the only image I could imprint on my head while watching him smirk as Dante tried to kiss me is that of our hot sexual escapades. I didn't mean to think so much of it.
  • But I was too engrossed when Dante left. He tries to talk to me, and I smirk, refusing him access. I had wanted to walk off when he called my attention to himself and saw the man, whom I desperately do not want to see at the moment, at my engagement party with a notorious criminal gang leader.
  • I was determined not to pour my anger on him, especially when I finally wanted to go away, and his hand grabbed hold of my waist, drawing me closer to himself in a more intense romantic manner.
  • "A thank you for saving this little damsel would definitely be enough." He whispered into my ear, causing me to lose my cool as my body reacted suddenly to his words.
  • "I didn't force you to save me, did I? I made it clear. I told you not to ever run into me. Why the fuck are you here?" I asked, displeased by his closeness to me.
  • I managed to jerk his hands off my waist, with his cold demeanor and a smirk escaping his lips. He's about to say another word before dad appears.
  • "Mr. Lorenzo De'Russo's, do you know my daughter already?" Dad's enthusiastic voice asked, breaking my wall of defense. I stared at him, the name sounding familiar.
  • I quickly recalled, He's my husband to be." Damn , I had a one-night stand with my husband to be at the hotel.
  • "Dad, you don't mean it. Am I supposed to marry this man?" I asked, unable to believe his words.
  • "Yes, Rosina, he's Don Lorenzo De'Russo's, and I can't believe you both have already started bonding with each other, even without my help on this." My dad made a good remark to me, and I was shocked.
  • I glanced at the man in a slow whimpers. Our eyes matched each other, and he smirked, tucking his hands into his trouser pocket.
  • "Well, I didn't know she'd be this beautiful and calm; I just ran into her." Don Lorenzo De'Russo's mutters, and my father nodded.
  • "I believe this will be the beginning of it all. Let me leave you two to bond before the engagement parties. Feel free to call my attention if you need anything, Don Lorenzo De'Russo's." My dad mutters, turning to leave.
  • "If I remember correctly, I wouldn't be needing anything from the Antonio's; they are the ones needing something from me, that they let this beautiful damsel into my life, I mean sold off." He mocked, and my father grow tensed, even underneath his smiles, I could fill the look of dismayed within.
  • " Father! I think we need to talk, like right now, "I forewarned, my voice a mixture of disbelief and surprise as I glared at the man who's to be my husband, his face rounded up in a smirk.
  • "I don't think we can talk anytime soon. First, handle your husband, and then we get the chance to talk there." So he said, before walking off without giving me an audience.
  • "Why? Do you want to cut this off since you discovered we are getting married to each other and we had sex?"
  • "You don't need to say it,it was an act of mistake fuelled by alcohol, and I don't want a reminder for it. You should consider that our own mistake instead. "I tell him, cutting him short before he can complete his sentence.
  • His eyes were dazzling at me, and I could feel the cold aura within him as he smirked. His face was that appealing and tempting, just as it was the first morning I woke up to his presence a day ago.
  • "You don't want to talk about this, perhaps?"
  • "I don't, can't you just read the atmosphere? Don Lorenzo De'Russo's.I don't want this marriage, especially not with a Don of fury, with dark energy, a dark aura, and a filthy murderer hiding beneath the surface," I half yelled. My life was already on the edge when dad broke the news of this marriage to me.
  • But what I wasn't expecting was that I would walk into the hands of a murderer, and I did. I was so consumed by my breakup with Dante that I let myself drown in another darkness, which was about to consume me.
  • I see him, feasting his fist in a ball, possessively glaring at me. I can tell he's trying to control his anger; his eyes were dark and commanding with their cold demeanor.
  • "Miss Rosina's Antonio, it's okay if you don't want this arrangement, but no names calling.I didn't force you into this, nor did I write a letter to your father to ask for your hand in marriage, just a stupid tradition and a good damn old alliance that I had to form by sticking to your arrogant damn fuckin ass, so a level of leniency should be maintained." He said his voice was cold and demeaning.
  • His eye was glaring at me with only savoring anger , and I scoffed, about to argue further with him. Although I was tempted to succumb to his demeaning look, I was determined not to give in to him.
  • Even though I was scared enough and I was growing under loose torment, I didn't want him to see me as a weakling, and with a drift, I was stopped when Kira walked hand in hand with Dante.
  • "He's the one you are getting married to? firm and cute, and I love it. Dad wants you both at the reception, and I can see you are already being clingy towards him like you are always, "she mutters, staring at us.
  • "Kira Antonio, second daughter born out of wedlock and a sole aim boyfriend snatcher, I see you are frolicking around with the man you snatched, in here or outside here. I won't condone your act of insolence to my wife. Respect leniency if you don't want to pay the hard way. "I heard Don Lorenzo De'Russo's tell her, with his blazing eyes, and she flinched.
