Chapter 4 He Is Not My Type

  • "Why are you here, Riley?" Bella asked again when they entered the room.
  • "I am here to comfort you, Bella. You don't expect me to just stay in New York when you are passing through pain here?".
  • "But you have work and school"
  • "Those can wait, you are more important than me" Riley replied.
  • Bella then sat beside her and buried her head on Riley's shoulder and started crying.
  • "That's right, cry it all out don't keep it all in" Riley said and started patting her back.
  • After ten minutes, Bella stopped crying and they started discussing school stuff.
  • Bella was actually a sophomore in New York university where she was studying food and nutrition.
  • She and Riley were also studying the same course.
  • "So what are you planning to do now?" Riley asked in the middle of their conversation.
  • "I don't really know, Riley," she replied.
  • "Don't worry we will figure it out together" Riley said and held her hand.
  • In the evening, Riley suggested that they go out but Bella refused.
  • "Come on, Bella, you need to go out for some fresh air," Riley said, trying to convince her.
  • After much persuasion, she agreed and they both dressed up and went out.
  • They went outside the house and Riley stopped a cab and they both went in.
  • "No 13, rockwood street" Riley told the driver where they were going.
  • Bella stared at her with an open mouth, "Riley, have you been to Mexico before?"
  • "No, but I have a cousin who frequent here and she likes to brag about the places she has been to. And today we would be visiting one of the place" Riley replied.
  • "What is the place?" She asked.
  • "I won't tell you, it is a surprise"
  • Finally the car pulled up at the place and Bella came out of the cab and stared at the building they were going into.
  • The building number was shining so she saw it immediately, Riley paid the cab man and then stood beside her.
  • "You like it right?.I know that you are excited," Riley winked at her.
  • "So this is where we are going to spend the evening?" Bella asked.
  • "Yes, we might even spend the night here" Riley replied, grinning.
  • "Hell no" Bella muttered and started walking away but Riley held her hand stopping her.
  • "Hell yes" she said and dragged Bella towards the club, when she reached the door and showed the bouncer there her card.
  • They smiled and opened the door for them, Bella was really surprised by how beautiful the club was.
  • If not for the men and women kissing and touching each other that are all over the place, Bella would have taken a photo.
  • Riley led her to the bar where a handsome guy was serving drinks to the customers.
  • "What can I get for you sexy ladies?" He asked, smiling at them.
  • "Juci.."
  • "Champagne is okay," Riley interrupted.
  • "Okay" he replied and walked away to get their drinks.
  • "Champagne?, before I forget where you got the card you showed the bouncer at the door?" Bella asked.
  • "Oh my sweet Ella, two questions at the same time, but you have to choose one. Which one do you want me to answer?"
  • "You know the one so answer it" Bella gritted through her teeth.
  • "Well the card belonged to my cousin, I stole it from her as a prank" Riley replied.
  • "And you didn't give it back?" She asked.
  • "Don't judge me yet, I wanted to give it back to her but the little brat started bragging that she was going to get two cards when she visited Mexico again so I decided to keep it for myself" Riley finished.
  • "Really?, I am starting to think you came here to enjoy yourself and not to comfort me" Bella said and Riley gasped.
  • "Ella, how can you say that?. Last semester, I had all the time and money to travel around but did I do it?. No, I stayed because I didn't want to leave you, you are really hurting my feelings".
  • "It is fine, I was just kidding," Bella said.
  • "Please don't joke with that, it is not really funny" she replied and Bella nodded in acknowledgement.
  • "Here you go ladies" the bar man said and kept their champagne on the table.
  • He opened it for them and poured two glasses for them, Bella took the glass and looked at the crystal clear liquid and grimaced.
  • "Drink it Ella, don't let my money go to waste" Riley said.
  • "As if I was the one that told you to buy it" Bella muttered and took a sip.
  • "Hmm, it tastes nice," she said after taking a sip.
  • "Yeah, I know that you would like it," Riley replied.
  • "Hmm, please can you spell cute in English for me?" The bar man asked Bella.
  • "Please don't get me wrong, my niece posted a pic and I wanted to tell her that she is cute," he explained when Bella stared weirdly at him.
  • "Okay, C...U..T..E" she spelled.
  • "Wrong, it is Y..O..U" he replied and Bella smiled.
  • He was definitely flirting with her, "nice move" she commented.
  • "I take that as a compliment, I will be right back let me attend to other people" he said and left.
  • "Aww, he is cute and he is into you" Riley said, grinning from ear to ear.
  • "He is not"
  • "Yes, he is," Riley insisted.
  • "Whatever, he is not my type" Bella said and continued drinking the wine when four men dressed in black entered the club.
  • There was something off about the men, they emanate a dangerous aura that made goosebumps appear all over her body.
  • It wasn't only her that noticed their presence, the DJ stopped playing the music and the people dancing stopped.
  • Bella glanced at the bar man and saw him staring at the man who was now standing in his front.
  • His face was pale as if all the blood in his body were gone and there was fear in his eye.
