Chapter 237

  • "When are you ever?" Jack said cheekily and I flipped him off.
  • "I'll punch you, so don't push me," I warned and walked through the living room and upstairs to my room. I searched through my draws until I found my cigarettes and a lighter and then I made my way back downstairs and out the front door. I raised my eyebrows in surprise when I saw Eli outside, smoking a cigarette. He glanced at me and then looked away, focusing on blowing out circles of smoke.
  • I ignored him and leaned back against the house, taking a cigarette out of the packet and placing it in my mouth. "Fucksake," I muttered and glared at the lighter when it wouldn't light. "Stupid piece of shit." I threw the lighter on the ground and headed for the front door, but Eli grabbed my arm and held me still. He took his lighter out of his pocket and lit the cigarette that was in my mouth. "Thanks," I muttered and retreated back to my spot leaning against the wall.
