Chapter 3

  • Lina stepped down of the plane holding her nephew in one hand while the other carried their luggage.
  • She wore a dark blue, off-shoulder body-hugging gown that hugged her body and displayed her curves that were in the right places. The gown was only above her knee.
  • Her long black hair was left hanging down around her waistline. Her sunglasses prevented the heavy sun from affecting her eyes.
  • Fred was putting on a silver suit and had his hair combed and styled sideways. With his sunglasses on. He looked so handsome and out of the world.
  • As they passed some people stared at the two beautiful pairs of individuals while they passed.
  • .........
  • A small smile made its way to my face as I looked at the sky.
  • I looked at the environment that has changed a little compared to five years back ago" I'm back in New York." I murmured under my breath.
  • We had just come out of the airport when a car stopped in front of us with a screeching. I looked at the car with blossoming anger but my anger melted like a Walt when the glass window was scrolled down revealing the face of the man in his forties.
  • " Good day ma'am, are you Miss Lina?"
  • I looked at him weirdly and pursed my lips in a straight line refusing to answer that question.
  • I looked at him suspiciously. During my years of stay in London, I have learned a lot of things. The reason, I decided to move out of this country in the first the place was because of my suspicion of some unknown men dressed in black looking at my nephew weirdly.
  • " Oh, sorry miss, Let me introduce myself. I'm Mr. Cameron. " he introduce himself when he saw I wasn't answering his question.
  • " Miss Matilda sent me to pick you and her godson up from the airport."
  • My face finally relaxed, yesterday when matilda called me, I told her when. I was. coming back. She promised to send a car to pick me up and Fred up.
  • "Oh...." I was about to reply more when my phone buzzed. I looked at the screen and smiled when I saw the caller. I wiped my middle finger across the screen and put my phone.
  • " Hello, " I said.
  • " Oh, my God! nana. You people are back?"
  • " Hmm!"
  • " I sent a driver to pick you guys up."
  • " Okay, thank you," I replied with a smile.
  • I cut the call and look at the man inside. car and stretched out my hand.
  • " It's nice to meet you."
  • he smiled and opened the car and stepped down out of the car and shakes my stretched-out hands.
  • "I'm Mr. Cameron, it's nice to meet you too," he said with an enchanting smile on his face.
  • " Hi, my man. I'm Fred!" My little nephew said with his small palm outreached which made the man ruffle out a laugh from his throat.
  • " I'm Mr. Cameron, little boy." Mr. Cameron said with a British accent and shakes his hand.
  • " Hi Mr. Cameron, I'm Fred not a little man. I'm Fred" Fred said with seriousness lacing and dripping from his voice and a small frown embraced his forehead. I watched my little nephew with a smile.
  • Me Cameron should thank his stars that this little man here was in a good mood throughout today unless he would have been subjected to tireless questions and answers.
  • " Sorry, Fred. Can we be friends?"
  • The little guy looked at him and snorted, " I don't make friends anyhow. You need to work hard."
  • " It's okay Fred, sorry for that Mr. Cameron. Can we go now?" I said cutting them off. If I should leave the both of them......
  • " Yes why not," he opened the back car for us. I excepted Fred to enter but when I looked at him. It seems he has no intention of getting in. I got into the car, I looked at him as he moved to the passenger's car and got in.
  • I heard Mr. Cameron's laughter as he pulled our luggage into the car boot before entering into the driver's seat and driving off from the airport.
  • The car was very silent throughout the journey, Out of business. I pulled out my phone and entered into my Facebook account and scrolled through the page.
  • Something on the page cut my attention but before I could read it. I heard Mr. Cameron announcing " We have arrived."
  • I looked outside and pulled back my phone into my red purse.
  • I opened the door and stepped out. I looked around the big mansion but they seems the same. Nothing was different about the house. Just as it was when we left.
  • I turned to Mr. Cameron who was pulling our luggage out of the bag.
  • I went to help him but he refused my assistance declaring that he will do it.
  • " Grandma, grandpa!" I turned when I heard a Fred's voice screaming behind me.
  • Fred calls both Matilda's parents , grandparents. Growing up as we were in London. They always calls and we did video calls, many times. so I think he has already been accustomed to them.
  • I watched as both of them bent their waist and kiss his cheeks before Bianca, Matilda's mum carried him in her arms. I watched how she broke into tears and hugged Fred. I watched the scene with a smile. They were my greatest support. I know I might be strong but I don't know whether I would have been able to pull out, especially during my college days.
  • " Nana!" I heard a scream but before I could even react. Someone hugged me which made almost loss balance but I managed to regain my balance.
  • Without being told, I already knew who it is.
  • I hugged her back and we both broke down in tears after some time, I withdrew from the hug.
  • " Nana, I can't believe it. I'm seeing you again after many years. So I'm not going to be lonely again." her words made a smile an
  • embrace my face.
  • " As if you have been lonely?" I asked with a smile.
  • " Turn around let me see you, babe, let me know if you have been feeding well. Have London been good on you?" she asked turning me around. I laughed out.
  • " Of course, London can't belittle a hero like me. " I said making a superpower poise.
  • I pulled her into another warm hug " I missed you." I said
  • " I also missed you nana. I won't face any more lonely days here. " I pulled away and snorted at her words.
  • " As if am going to believe that but don't worry. We gonna rock New York." I said with a smile.
  • " Ya, we......" we both turned hearing someone clearing voice behind us. We both turned. I almost shrieked in embarrassment. In the cause of taking with Matilda. I have forgotten about her parent who seems amused rather than neglected.
  • Both had warm smiles on their faces which made me happy.
  • " Mum, Dad?" I called softly. A blossoming smile embraced Bianca's face.
  • Our families were very close when my parent was alive. Both of them were my Godparent. They were there for me after my parent's death and before Amanda's arrival.
  • " Come my daughter let me hug you." I moved closer to her.
  • Without a second thought. She pulled me into a heartwarming hug of a mother.
  • " Have you been doing well?" she asked after she pulled away and scrutinized my face checking every little detail. I smiled back warmly.
  • " Dad?" I looked at him and gave him a warm hug. He patted my back with a smile.
  • " Enough of the emotions. Let's go inside and prepare a portion of good food for the both of you," she said with her enchanting smile which was always infectious.
  • Finally, I'm back in the country. There is a lot to do and find out.
