Chapter 4 The Wild Wolf
- In just about ten seconds, Qin Fei emerged at the cave entrance, holding a gun in his hand. He aimed directly at the bald man's head and pulled the trigger.
- Bang!
- The bald man's head exploded like a watermelon, and the warm blood caused Zhao Muxin's eyes to widen as she let out a scream. She turned her head and vomited.
- Qin Fei shrugged, tossed the gun on the ground, and casually lit a cigarette. He leaned against the cave entrance, smoking.
- After about ten minutes, Zhao Muxin finally stood up, her face pale and her eyes vacant.
- Today's experience had been too terrifying for her.
- As they exited the cave and saw the bright sunlight, Zhao Muxin slowly squatted down and burst into tears.
- Qin Fei extinguished the cigarette butt, squatted down, and patted Zhao Muxin's shoulder. "It's alright, go back and get some rest. The first time I witnessed someone being killed, I reacted the same way!"
- Zhao Muxin's shoulders trembled twice. She raised her tear-stained face and said, "Were you pretending all along? You had the ability to subdue those people, didn't you?"
- "Well... I wasn't sure at first," Qin Fei admitted honestly.
- "No need to explain, I can see it now. You're just a dark and twisted person! You find it satisfying and enjoyable to see me being bullied, don't you? You've gone too far!" Zhao Muxin coldly glanced at Qin Fei and walked down the mountain without looking back.
- "Hey, there are many forks in the road, don't get lost!" Qin Fei remembered clearly that during the journey of over an hour, Scarface led them through more than ten forks.
- Otherwise, the police would have caught up long ago, but most likely they were confused by the forks and had no idea which one led to the kidnappers' hideout.
- While wiping her tears, Zhao Muxin said coldly, "I don't need you to worry about it!"
- "Kindness is wasted on you!" Qin Fei felt a bit frustrated as he looked at the three bodies on the ground. He decided to get off the mountain first before doing anything else.
- Fifty thousand for each kidnapper, so three of them made one hundred and fifty thousand. It wasn't in vain that he had been pretending to be submissive all day.
- Qin Fei tied the three bodies together with a rope like a string of grasshoppers, and then dragged them as he walked towards the foot of the mountain.
- However, they hadn't walked far when faint howling sounds came from the mountain hollow.
- Qin Fei immediately frowned. It wasn't even dark yet, and the wolves were already out?
- They must have found food, and most likely, it was Zhao Muxin, that foolish girl, who caught the attention of the wolves!
- "Women are such trouble!"
- Qin Fei grabbed his hair and hid the three bodies in the bushes. Then, limping, he walked towards the howling wolves in the valley.
- "You deceitful scoundrel, I hate you!"
- When that bald man tried to rape her, that bastard chose to leave.
- Is this what a man does?
- Zhao Muxin cursed Qin Fei all the way, not noticing the many forks in the road beneath her feet.
- It wasn't until she reached a valley ahead that she realized she might have taken the wrong path.
- She looked up at the sky. Surrounded by towering mountains, she couldn't tell where she was.
- Damn it, it's all because of that scoundrel. He made her so angry that she lost her way.
- Zhao Muxin rolled her eyes in frustration and decided to turn back. That bastard should also be descending the mountain, so it would be better to follow him and have some company.
- However, as soon as she turned around, she heard a rustling sound coming from the bushes behind her.
- Zhao Muxin's heart tightened, and she turned back anxiously, only to see a pair of shiny green eyes.
- Why does it look like... like a wolf!
- Zhao Muxin's teeth chattered, and she kept moving backward, her back covered in cold sweat.
- She suddenly tripped on something and lost her balance, falling to the ground.
- The wolf howled and revealed its sharp teeth, slowly approaching Zhao Muxin.
- "You scoundrel, where are you..."
- For a moment, Zhao Muxin thought of Qin Fei.
- Actually, that scoundrel looked quite cool when he fired the gun, at least it gave a sense of security.
- If that scoundrel appeared in the next second, I would definitely forgive him.
- However, besides the mountain wind brushing past and the rustling sound of leaves, there was only the heavy panting of the wolf.
- With her small hand clutching her clothes, tears rolled down Zhao Muxin's face. "Big brother wolf, please don't eat me. My parents are still waiting for me at home. Please, let me go!"
- However, the wolf certainly couldn't understand what Zhao Muxin was saying. It let out a low roar, opened its blood-stained mouth, and prepared to enjoy its hearty dinner.
- But after opening its mouth, the wolf didn't bite down.
- In the ferocious eyes, there reflected a limping figure, holding a dead mother wolf in his hand, and slowly walked over.
- "Ah... you're here!" Zhao Muxin suddenly became spirited, realizing that she didn't dislike Qin Fei as much as she thought.
- Qin Fei shrugged, threw the mother wolf on the ground, and said, "I was delayed by this mother wolf. You really should have listened to me and not run around when I said there was a fork in the road!"
- "I... I didn't know." Even Zhao Muxin herself didn't notice that there was a hint of coquetry in her tone.
- It seemed that as long as he appeared, there was nothing that couldn't be solved.
- The male wolf, seeing its companion dead, had a flash of bloodthirstiness in its eyes. It howled and pounced towards Qin Fei.
- "Be careful!" Zhao Muxin couldn't help but worry.
- "Just a wolf!" Qin Fei's right hand, which had been hidden behind his back, suddenly stabbed quickly into the air. A thumb-thick wooden stick, after a beautiful sword flourish, accurately pierced the male wolf's heart.
- Howl... thud...
- The male wolf fell to the ground, twitched twice, and then stopped moving.
- "You... you used swordsmanship just now?" Zhao Muxin widened her eyes, feeling that this seemingly foolish Qin Fei was not simple.
- That stab just now was really cool, and Zhao Muxin's eyes were filled with stars.
- "You're thinking too much. In this day and age, how could anyone still know swordsmanship? I just randomly stabbed, and that wolf was unlucky!"
- Qin Fei glanced at Zhao Muxin, shook his head. He didn't want to expose his abilities now, otherwise the people from the organization would come running.
- "Oh, I see. What do you do for a living? Are you an undercover police officer?"
- "But you're not pretending to limp when you walk, and you don't look the part either. The police station probably wouldn't want you."
- "Are you an assassin? Otherwise, ordinary people wouldn't have your calmness. Your eyes didn't even blink when you fired! And, you stuttered when you spoke in the cave, but now you're not stuttering. Are you pretending?"
- Confronted with Zhao Muxin's rapid-fire questioning, Qin Fei regretted getting involved in the first place. He should have just let her be eaten by the wolf, then the world would be quiet.
- "Hey, can you please stop talking? As you can see, you're just an idiot." Qin Fei sighed and said.
- Although he had regained some strength, he was still far from his peak state.
- Furthermore, he always had a nagging feeling that his death was suspicious, as if he had been targeted.
- Using Qin Yifei's "idiotic" persona as a cover, he planned to secretly investigate who had plotted against him. That was Qin Fei's current plan.
- Faced with Zhao Muxin's barrage of questions, Qin Fei didn't want to say much. If his true identity was exposed, the person who had plotted against him might come looking for him.
- He was too weak at the moment, not a match for those individuals.
- Qin Fei had something on his mind and ignored Zhao Muxin's incessant chatter behind him until he discovered the bodies of the three kidnappers hidden in the bushes.
- Zhao Muxin's face turned pale once again.
- She pursed her lips and followed Qin Fei from a distance, remaining silent.
- However, they hadn't walked far when they spotted Zhou Kai approaching with four or five team members.
- Zhou Kai furrowed his brow slightly and wondered to himself: What's happening? This idiot didn't die? And these three people, tied up like grasshoppers, seem to be the kidnappers.
- Could it be that this idiot killed these three kidnappers?
- "Did you kill these people?" Zhou Kai's tone was unfriendly.
- Qin Fei shook his head and calmly replied, "No, they killed each other."
- So that's what happened!
- Zhou Kai breathed a sigh of relief and quickly came up with a plan. He said to Zhao Muxin, "Miss, I'm Zhou Kai from the Criminal Investigation Team. I'll take you to a place to rest."
- "Oh, okay."
- After a whole afternoon of chaos, Zhao Muxin was already exhausted and had little energy left. She had been following the three bodies all the way, and she was starting to feel a bit disoriented.
- Not long after, Zhou Kai promptly handed Zhao Muxin over to two female police officers who had accompanied him.
- Once the two female police officers and Zhao Muxin had walked a considerable distance away, Zhou Kai approached Qin Fei and said, "Do you realize that you have committed a crime?"
- Qin Fei shook his head and inquired, "What crime did I commit?"
- "You aided and abetted the robbers by driving for them, which constitutes the crimes of harboring and aiding. This could result in at least five years of imprisonment!"
- Zhou Kai deliberately emphasized the severe consequences.
