• Elizabeth had been trying her best to escape the constant stream of flattering remarks from Mia and Lisa. Their fake sweetness and endless compliments were starting to get on her nerves, but she managed to smile through it all, all the while her thoughts lingering on one thing—Alex. Finally, she made an excuse to slip away from them and found herself standing near by the entrance of the ballroom, hoping for a moment of peace and Alex.
