- Anger rushed through me, and I tried to rip myself away from Karson, but he just tightened his grip on my belt loop and dragged me away from Charlie—literally dragged me through the crowd toward the front doors.
- When he finally let go of me outside of the party, I shoved my hands into his taut chest. “What the hell is wrong with you?!” I pushed him again, letting him stumble back toward his truck. “Why are you set on ruining my life?”
- Before I knew it, Karson snatched my wrist and pushed me against his truck, his breath in my ear. “I don’t handle it well when people try to take what’s mine, Hope,” he growled and wrapped a hand around my throat.
