Chapter 3 Frederick Personally Welcomes The Guest

  • Charlotte and the children made their way to the waiting area. She was tall and slender, her simple, long trench coat accentuating her perfect figure. Her facial features were sharp and exquisite, her eyes shimmering, radiating an irresistible charm. Her every move was elegant and full of poise, making it hard for anyone to look away. Moreover, three adorable children by her side drew even more attention.
  • Anthony maintained a cool and aloof expression, his small hands tucked into his pockets. Bennett and Olivia clung to the woman's clothes, with Olivia adorably gnawing on his thumb enough to melt anyone's heart.
  • Many were left gawking at the side, their hearts melting to the point of vocalizing their adoration. They all expressed a playful desire to form a team and steal the children.
  • Olivia glanced up, gently tugging at her mother's hand. Her voice was soft and sweet as she asked, “Mommy, why hasn't the person who's supposed to pick us up arrived yet?”
  • Bennett gently guided Charlotte to a seat and unscrewed a water bottle for her. His little face was filled with innocence as he said, “Mommy, have some water!”
  • Anthony pulled out a cartoon duck electric fan from his bag and began fanning her. “Mommy, how is the wind speed at this setting?”
  • Charlotte's gaze softened after witnessing her children's actions. She said gently, “Thank you, my little ones, but don't worry. Let me make a call and ask.”
  • As she spoke, she dialed a number on her phone. After a moment, she set her phone down and softly said, “They've said they'll be here in just two more minutes. Sweethearts, just wait a little more, okay?”
  • The little ones nodded in agreement.
  • Anthony blinked his adorable eyes and asked, “Mommy, when we visit the patient's house later, will we be able to see our brothers?”
  • Bennett swallowed nervously, his expression a bit tense. “Mommy, do you think our younger brothers will like us? I wonder if they'll be able to recognize us!”
  • Bennett's face was a bit pale as he clung to Charlotte's leg, twisting his body. In a soft voice, he added, “Mommy, I feel so nervous...”
  • As Charlotte listened, a hint of urgency rose within her. It had been six years, six long years, since she had been separated from her two children.
  • She suppressed her excitement and said gently, “Of course, your younger brothers will adore you. But remember, you must keep your promise to me!”
  • Olivia's eyes were filled with earnestness. She raised her chubby little fist. “I will! When I meet my younger brothers, I have to act as if I don't know them! Because they don't know they have older siblings, so I can't scare them!”
  • A determined glint flashed in Charlotte's eyes, her voice steadfast. “Yes, once I have sorted everything out, we'll leave together with your younger brothers.”
  • A subtly luxurious, extended version of a black Rolls-Royce had pulled up outside while they were talking.
  • A handsome man dressed in a suit hurriedly got out of the car and approached them. He bowed respectfully and said, “Dr. Sherrod, I apologize for my late arrival. Please get in the car.”
  • Charlotte, accompanied by the children, made her way over. The man was quick to open the rear car door for them. As Charlotte bent over to get in, she suddenly froze in her tracks.
  • Inside, there sat an elderly man with a stern expression and a powerful aura.
  • Charlotte paused, quickly realizing, “Old Mr. Quille, what brings you here in person?”
  • “Dr. Sherrod, nice to meet you.”
  • Charlotte's posture immediately stiffened as she found herself face-to-face with the children's grandfather. Despite feeling incredibly nervous, she forced herself to maintain eye contact. “Hello,” she greeted, “I didn't expect you to come pick me up personally.”
  • Frederick furrowed his brows. Despite having been mentally prepared, upon meeting her, he realized she was far younger than he had previously imagined.
  • Does this apprentice of the miracle doctor truly possess the capability to cure Nathan?
  • His words, both spoken and unspoken, conveyed his worry. “Nathan's condition is really poor right now. I was so concerned that I came personally.”
  • Suddenly, his phone rang. He picked it up, his brows furrowing slightly afterward. His voice was rigid as he asked, “Why did you come too?”
  • On the other end of the phone, Belinda's voice was sweet and delicate. “I was worried about Nathan, so I managed to get in touch with a miracle doctor. I came specifically today to pick him up. Grandpa, I was just bullied at the airport! They even insulted our family, saying that they don't regard our family with any importance.”
  • Several years ago, Belinda unexpectedly showed up with a child. The two of them were supposed to get married because of the child, but for some reason, Nathan changed the marriage to an engagement instead, not allowing her to be overly affectionate in their day-to-day interactions.
  • Despite Belinda's countless attempts to win him over, she couldn't even elicit a hint of affection from him. Even after being engaged for six years, Nathan had never laid a finger on her.
  • At this thought, Belinda's face contorted in displeasure. He found Charlotte to be incredibly vexing, like a lingering bad spirit. Of all times, she had to return now, causing an undeniable sense of unease within Belinda.
  • Frederick said indifferently, “If you've been bullied, go and find Harvey. Let him help you get some justice.”
  • Harvey Wendel was the president of a subsidiary under Quille Corporation. He held substantial authority and also had Frederick's deep trust.
  • Upon receiving approval, Belinda revealed a sly grin on her face. In a soft voice, she said, “All right, then. I'll head home right away.”
  • After hanging up the phone, she turned to the miracle doctor she had invited over, speaking with an air of confidence. “Dr. Lynch, I'm counting on you for the upcoming matter. Once this is accomplished, rest assured, your efforts won't go unrewarded.”
  • “Rest assured, Ms. Sherrod!” the other party said with a fawning tone.
