Chapter 3 Did You Teach Your Child to Call Everyone Daddy

  • Abel was momentarily taken aback.
  • Dropping his usual sharp demeanor, he crouched down and said gently, "Are you lost? I can help you find your way out and reunite you with your parents."
  • "No need to find my mommy. She's waiting for you with Great-grandfather," Helios said steadily. "You don't need to find my daddy as well because it's you."
  • "How could it be me?" Abel's lips curved slightly.
  • Helios answered seriously, "You can tell just by looking at me. Do you even need to ask?"
  • Abel removed his sunglasses and examined the little boy in front of him.
  • Indeed, this little guy did resemble him.
  • "My son isn't you…" Abel smiled. "You must be Adrien's kid. You certainly look like a Ryker."
  • "But Mommy said my daddy's name is Abel."
  • "Who is your mommy?"
  • "Emmeline."
  • Emmeline?
  • Abel shook his head. He was certain he didn't know this woman.
  • When Emmeline returned to the cafe, her phone suddenly rang. An unfamiliar number was displayed.
  • She answered the phone. "Hello, it's Nightfall Cafe. Would you like to place an order?"
  • A cold voice came from the other end, "Your son is with me."
  • "This scam is too amateurish. I'm not falling for it."
  • Emmeline then hung up, but the phone rang again.
  • "You scammer…"
  • "I'm Abel."
  • Abel?
  • Emmeline was about to curse but paused when she heard this. Her heart skipped a beat.
  • It's him. This man has finally appeared.
  • It has been five years since I gave birth to his child, but I haven't seen his face yet.
  • Does he look like the kids?
  • "Where are you?" Emmeline's voice was icy.
  • Abel, irritated at being mistaken for a scammer, scoffed. "Your son is hungry. He's eating at Burger King in the airport."
  • Only then did Emmeline realize Helios wasn't upstairs. He had gone off on his own again.
  • Emmeline immediately rushed out.
  • Forty minutes later, Emmeline arrived at Burger King in the airport.
  • As she opened the glass door, she saw Helios sitting at an orange table and happily munching on a burger.
  • His chubby little legs swung back and forth on the chair.
  • Beside him sat a man in a dark suit with a powerful presence that almost made Emmeline shut the door.
  • She squinted her enchanting eyes at him.
  • This man must be about six foot three.
  • He looks like he has undergone special forces training, as he has sharp features and a noble demeanor.
  • No wonder my kids are so exceptional.
  • "Are you the child's mother?" Abel was the first to speak.
  • Honestly, the delicate Helios had already made him think that his mother must be a beauty.
  • However, he hadn't expected her to be this stunning.
  • Calling her breathtaking was no exaggeration.
  • Abel couldn't deny that he, who had never been moved by a woman, was momentarily dazed.
  • "Yes, Mr. Ryker."
  • Abel sneered. "Did you teach your child to call everyone Daddy?"
  • "He has only one father," Emmeline coldly replied. "Five years ago, in early autumn, while it was raining, you left behind a bank card with ten million on it at the Grand Struyria Hotel."
  • "It sounds like a romantic tale." Abel sneered. "However, I don't have time for your fantasies."
  • "Abel!" Emmeline shouted angrily. "You left me with a child and now refuse to acknowledge it."
  • Just then, a bodyguard stepped in. "Miss, Mr. Abel has been abroad all this time. You must be mistaken."
  • "How do you explain the bank card with your name on it?"
  • Abel glanced up. "Where is this bank card?"
  • "It's right…" Emmeline reached into her pocket but found it empty. She remembered that Alana had broken it and discarded it.
  • "It got lost."
  • Abel sneered mockingly. "I've seen many women like you."
  • Clearly, he considered Emmeline to be one of those manipulative, foolish women.
  • Emmeline was displeased with the way he looked at her, but without evidence, she had no ground to stand on.
  • Pursing her lips, she suddenly moved closer to him.
  • A bodyguard tried to block her, but she gracefully spun past him and reached Abel.
  • The bodyguard's face tensed as he was ready to strike, but Abel raised a hand to stop him.
  • Then, with a swift motion, Abel caught Emmeline in his arms. He encircled her waist with one hand, his deep eyes probing hers.
  • Nevertheless, Emmeline quickly slipped out of his grasp. She then casually plucked a hair from Abel's head.
  • Abel narrowed his eyes. "What are you trying to do?"
  • "Just do a test to see if you are the father of my child." Emmeline smiled slyly.
  • "Such low tactics and utterly unoriginal." Abel stood up and straightened his suit, ready to leave.
  • "Ms. Louise, take your son and keep an eye on him. Stop having him call everyone Daddy."
  • "Wait!" Emmeline blocked his path and looked directly at him.
