I am wearing one of those incredibly flattering hospital gowns that is wide open in the back with a sheet over my lap. She’s pulled everything away from my protruding abdomen to check on my children. “I know the sexes now.”
• “Don’t tell me,” I say, covering my ears with both hands. “I don’t want to find out without the Alphas.” I’m not even sure where they are, but Shelby, Adam, and Kelly have all told me not to worry about it.
